That range sounds a bit optimistic to me. A regular ATS with the V6 starts out a tick more than 300 lbs less than the Camaro 1LE already. There is no way that its only going to gain a couple dozen pounds when it gets -V'd.

For both the ZL1 and new Z06, the cars gained about 220 lbs over the regular V8 models. Granted, it probably isn't going to be as extreme a makeover with the ATS-V, but gaining 150-200 lbs would be entirely within reason IMO. That would put its curb weight somewhere around 3700 lbs or something like 150 less than the 1LE.

No, but Chevrolet.com lists the C7 curb weight at 3298 lbs, while the Z06 coupe is said to be 3524 lbs (the convertible is 3582) according to the ordering guide that came out in mid August.

I think that has more to do with the DCT. Much faster and consistant that a human shifting.

According to these specs, a '15 ATS RWD Coupe with 3.6 and Automatic Curbs @ 3529. Forged wheels and summer rubber should be a draw. Brakes, diff and turbos added will break 3600. Weight-savers, if any, will reduce. 1SS-1LEs are 3860. Somewhere between 2-300 lb. is do-able at ATS-V class-competitive price points.

ATS-V will have the 3.6L TT V6 from the CTS V-Sport and choice of 6spd manual and 8spd auto. Confirmed by an article in road and track and on jalopnik. Also an added aero package will produce 100lbs of down force at 150mph. Looks really good and super tempting.

They say it has 450 hp and 445 lb ft. I wonder what that will do to the mileage.

WOW this thing is going to be a serious contender! Much better power-to-weight than the current 5th gen SS, has more down force (with the track pack) than a ZL1 and doesn't look half bad either. This could seriously be a M3/M4 fighter.

I'm guessing the CCBs are part of the track pack.

Thats great if it does come in at 3600 lbs because i'm all for sticking it to the Germans, but for the ATS Coupe to only gain 100 lbs seems a bit far fetched.

It's either wrong or they went all out on CF and other weight saving materials. Makes you wonder what the price will be. 70K-75K starting price?

GM has been pricing the ATS very close to the 3 series. So with the M3 & M4 starting in the low 60s I would be utterly shocked if the ATS-V started over 65 grand. And I would be just as surprised if it started at less 55k.

Look for the M3/4 to set the pricing. They may elect to undercut a bit but simply compare a 3 to an ATS.

Look for $60 to 75,000 or so.

If that 3,600 lb figure is true, that is simply awesome. That's a gain of around 100 - 150 lbs over the standard ATS V6, so it sounds about right to me. For instance, a Camaro SS weighs pretty much the same over a V6 model.

What I'm a bit surprised about is the TQ figure. In almost all cases, more boost in these engines equals a lot more torque and some more HP. In this case, they gained more HP than TQ when compared to the LF3 in the other V-Sport cars. I'd have guessed at least 460TQ with the HP being 450...oh wells. Maybe they didn't really increase the boost, and made the gains in other ways.

Love the look of this car from a frontward angle. A side view is a bit bland. Still love it though, and looking forward to more.

Those rims are killer. I can see them being popular for the 6th gen Camaro already.
