I like the fact that the car can be a daily driver and has the acceleration when needed on straight roadways. I guess I can show my age here when I say this takes me back to the late 60's and early '70's when the American Muscle car was in it's glory. It's great to see the Big 3 compete again in the HP Wars.

Also keep in mind, Dodge did not make the Hellcat to be a track car as the Z/28, their goal was simply to build an American Muscle car....and to that they did.

Not in certain parts of this forum, bud.

Most EVERYONE here tracks their cars and possess the skill level of professional race car drivers that can actually push our cars to the max level at all times. That's why the ONLY thing that matters about our cars is what Randy Pobst, Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Autoblog, Road & Track, etc. says about them.

To hell with the fact that you may simply like the car for your own reasons.......

I have a headache reading you girls fight and argue about a car. Who cares. I'm personally not a Dodge fan, but the care looks legit. I won't be buying one as it's still a Dodge. I bought my $60k car in the Zl1 and am happy with it. These Hellcat fans are funny tho, seems they are taking any criticism personally. Nothing makes a car's rep go south as much as their owners make them. It's why I personally can't carry on a convo about cars to Vette owners. They are constantly reminding me they are king of the jungle, when in reality, on the street, GTR's are. They hate that word. Buy what you want and be happy with it.

We will have to agree to disagree. The redesigned interior is nice for a Dodge but in the $60,000+ range there are significantly nicer places to be than inside a Challenger. It is far and away nicer than the 5th gen Camaro interior, on that we can agree.

Weight distribution and how the suspension behaves under load. Shouldn't fight the driver. Should ideally feel neutral to the driver.

Plenty of cars make noise with less than 700hp. You're buying a 700hp factory car...to be "pushed back in your seat"?? That's the reason?

Hilarious coming from someone spending $60,000...on a Dodge. Only 556hp...which is more than anything Dodge has offered not named Viper. Until now there have only been two other muscle cars that can compete with the V and they are still not direct competitors. Nice for Dodge to finally show up to the party, 6 years later.

Please don't use "Dodge" and "reliability" in the same sentence unless it also includes "failure", "abysmal" or "catastrophic".

When I was 16, 17, I loved the drag strip too. I grew out of it and looked for something more challenging. If drag-racing is all you got...enjoy.

I never commented or alluded to a Z/28 - different animal. My V certainly isn't set up for dedicated track use. It's a daily driver I can drive on track days, at the drag strip, enjoy back country and mountain roads while accommodating my family, baggage etc. My expectations for American pony/performance/luxury cars has evolved as cars like the C6 Corvette, Viper, CTS-V1, G8 GXP, 5th gen Camaro, Cobra R, Boss, CTS-V2 have produced world class handling to complement their straight-line performance, all at an affordable price. Would have been nice if Dodge put some effort into the chassis, that's all I'm saying.

Well, hopefully one day you get to drive the Hellcat Challenger, as they did make some improvements, and get the opportunity to see for yourself as opposed to just commenting on articles. Not trying to convert you but to have such a one sided opinion about how this car drives from reading articles and not actually having any first hand experience is presumptuous but I am in the same boat until I actually get to drive mine ....hopefully by this Summer, and if you ever make it to Orlando, you can try it out....just not on a track. Hey, Jay Leno liked it.

Recently I was in a new rental Charger and I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. For an everyday getting around set of wheels it did the job, was roomy, easy to get in and out of and the new interior was well appointed. Frankly I don't really drive our second vehicle around a lot so I'd certainly consider a HellCat Charger for running around and just give my wife the lower HP key and not tell her it's really a monster in nice clothing. Time will tell how these cars shake out in the long run but the industry in general has shown they can make a very civil high HP car that lasts. I can certainly see myself looking at a slightly used HellCat Charger in a couple years as my grocery getter.

I wonder if there is any truth to what I was told by one of the stealers. Referring to the Hellcat engine being used by SRT on the jeep?

I have been following some posts on that, it is great that they are now getting to the people that had the 1st orders. I guess we will need to wait until the spring for a owner driving review as well as track time with them.
