The CTS-V will get the LT4 and, for GM, the LT1 will power the Alpha Camaro, initially.

The L A Auto Show reveal for the ATS-V will be an event worth watching.

Pretty sure you won't think it's very funny when you see how this car will perform with the LF3.

CTS V-sport with the same engine is a 4.6 second car. And as GM will be clearly targeting the M3/M4 with this car and the ATS has a several hundred pound weight advantage over a CTS, you can rest assured you are looking at a 4 second car.

That, good sir, is not funny. Not funny at all.

And do not confuse this car with the CTS-V. That will be a different animal all together and likely see the LT4.

And I reserve judgment that what is under the hood of the car in these photos is not an LT1. There is a bit of room under the hood of our ATS and the LT1 would certainly make this a car to choose over the M3/M4. And that would be even less funny than the LF3.

Each to their own, but the Caddy's are freaking ugly to my eyes.

LT1, in a car roughly this size? Can you spell C-A-M-A-R-O? I knew you could.

Think of it as divisional differentiation. The Camaro will have a different mission than the ATS-V, against different DIRECT competition, and each will serve it's company well.

You also have to remember that "that crowd" thinks differently than most gear heads. To them, had the ATS V had the LT1 they might think to themselves, they couldn't make an engine to compete with us so they just borrowed the engine from the Corvette.

Apparently Audi agrees. This report states the next-Gen RS4 (the current version is not available here) will be a TT-V6. Maybe Caddy does know what's what, after all.

LT1 is more powerful. For marketing, this turbo 6 makes more sense than the LT1 I agree. Would have been great to have a Caddy version of the Camaro

Great car but I really dont think the hp will go up. I like when GM is ahead of the game on HP numbers but thats me.

The M3 makes 425hp with I think a DCT, it's quick. There going to need at least 470hp with the TTV6 imo to keep up.

A lot of people think BMW underrates its engines. They run faster than they should based on their rated HP. GM better pump up the LF3 if they want to compete.

ATS-V with LF3 should weigh about 200-300 lb. less than the current 1LE. With an 8-speed Automatic (worth 3/10ths over the 6-speed Auto. in a Vette), the ATS-V should be matching C and D's M3 time of 12.4 @ 116.
