As long as you are taking care of your family and putting away some for your old age and in case of emergency I wouldn't worry about what they say. Just ignore them, they don't know your financial situation. Do what is needed first and then have fun...

The great .22LR stress reliever. After a few hundred rounds, it makes it hard to remember your problems. If it's real bad, I'll go for the .40.

Man I love spending time out in the great outdoors fishing or target shooting. Not a HUGE hunter but I do like turkey and pheasant hunting I have a marlin 22lr, 30 30, 12g Remington trap gun, and my recently acquired .308 AR platform rifle. My favorite out of them all has to be my .308. Dialing in for the longer range targets and doing the shoot and move thing. Redialing in and trying to make that first shot count. HA I could waste an entire day doing that. I'm not really sure how I ending up liking that type of thing or cars in general considering the type of family i was raised in.

After a few hundred rounds, I have a whole new problem- spent too much money on .22LR. Cripes. I saw somebody that was still getting 70 bucks a brick last month. 70 bucks? Should be 20!

But its not. So be quiet

You state that it is because of them that you are on medications, but in fact it is not because of them... rather, it is because of how you cope with them. Stop telling them when you get a new gun - it is not like it is something you need to hang on the wall or strap to yourself when you go and visit them, right? Buy the gun(s), put them away, take them to the range, enjoy them as you would (I have many guns, but really only my wife and grown son's are aware of them). As for the car, you have a C-A-M-A-R-O, not a Ferrari or Lamborghini or something. It's a nice car, I like mine and the ones I have had previous to it... BUT IT IS ONLY A CAMARO. If they can't get over that, then ignore them. What the freak do they drive??

^ This pretty much sums it up. My family, especially my parents, are the same way. I upgraded to my ZL1 back in May. For a whole month my dad kept giving me a rash of crap and giving me the you got to get your finances in order talk every time we would talk to each other. I told him that as long as I can afford the payments and still meet other obligations I can do what I want with my money.

I also had to tell my parents that if they continue to harass me over what I do with my money if I am not putting myself in a financial strain, I would quit including them in my successes and accomplishments, such as buying a nice car or house. Haven't been harassed since.

Local range has 325 for $14.99

I don't pay more that $25/500. Been having good luck at Wal-Mart and Dicks lately.

Yeah, it's pretty sad when you can shoot 9mm and .40 for less than a .22LR. That's why I bought the gun, cheap rounds.

Sounds like my Mother In Law. People that try to bring you down when you do something for yourself have wither control issues or are very unhappy with their own life.
And burning bridges with family, sometimes it has to be done for your own sanity and happiness.
