Indeed. The ATS-V is a disgrace to all the great Cadillac muscle cars of the past. Like the ... uh ... um ...

oh, right. There has never been a Cadillac muscle car. Never mind

And while it might look like a Prius or Jetta to you -that is your opinion and I can't say its wrong, I see no resemblance other than the fact that they're all cars.

Maybe they're going to up the power substantially over the LF3 in the CTS & XTS Vsport, closer to 500 than 450. Then I could see being an obvious M3 killer. But otherwise, I don't see a performance reason to go with the TTV6 over the V8. I understand more mundane & practical engineering reasons to go that route, but performance wise? A big thumping V8 with an extra 30 hp & ft-lbs of torque should trump a TTV6 in the same car.

The previous generation had a V8. All others (including the current one) have turbo 6s.

I myself take pride in what me car looks like and I believe that most muscle cars of today that thrive are based after "OLD SCHOOL LOOKS "

If that is what a Caddy Muscle car looks like ENJOY IT, not for me and really maybe you should take another look !

Last I read that TT V6 was putting out more power stock than our LS3. Isn't it putting out 430HP 450TQ?

In the CTS V-Sport its 420hp/430ft-lbs. Unless there going to boost the HP/TQ for the ATS, im not seeing the point of not using the 455hp/460ft-lb LT1. It would be cheaper with more power and maybe even lighter. Don't the Mercedes still use a V8?

It will probably have the TT v6 but I also would have liked to see a LT1 and maybe even a super V world killing luxury performance coupe with a LT4.

Believe me I wouldn't mind seeing an LT1 under that hood I just think they want to be more "sofistcated" than an OHV V8 comes across. That DOHC TT V6 looks to fit the bill.

That LF3 is capable of numbers much greater than the 420/430 its running at in the other Caddys. Do I think they will push it to 490/520 or something crazy like that?

No, but I'm expecting a bump in power. I'm going to guess somewhere between 440 - 450HP and 460 - 475 TQ.

I would be surprised if they added any power to the LF3. I think they need to if they want this to be the ATS-V. From what I read, they focused on reducing lag which means using smaller turbos. That limits the top end.

But the turbos are already small. Can't see them going down even further in size. I'm betting there is other things they could do to help reduce lag.

Not to mention, very little lag was one of the early talking points from GM concerning the LF3, so I can't see it being a big deal.
