Real close. I don't think anyone from Ford ever claimed the '15 would be faster, right?

I figured ever since the first video with rear suspension upgrades that ford was hiding the wheel hop issue but doing it in plain sight by calling it "marketing" for there aftermarket parts.(hope I'm wrong) Seems like the boost in power offset the weight so that's a plus cause other then 1 or 2 videos so far the mph is still strong.

News flash-

Manuals are harder to launch at a drag strip, IRS suffers from wheel hop problems.

I know you're shocked, I am too /sarcasm.

Considering a bone stock, unbroken in auto GT with 20's and 3.15's ran a 12.8 with 87 octane fuel, it's safe to say this car isn't going to be a slowpoke. I'm guessing auto base GT's with proper fuel and 3.55's will be running 12.6's or so bone stock.

Thank you captain obvious!!! We all know that already. Everyone is just curious to how well died made up the weight issue with the added power. Plus the ford camp has been poking fun at the 5th gen cause "real" cars aka drag cars have a solid axle and now ford has blessed them with the hated IRS. It will be fun to watch all the guys wow bashed anyone for saying the ride and handling of the IRS is superior when all they cared about was drag racing. Guess what now they will be the ones talking about how great it rides and how well it handles. Plus even though the car will be able to run a good et odds are most drivers will run slower on average due to the wheel hop. So in the end the 1320 gap in real life just got a little bit closer and this is before the hopefully lighter and more powerful 6th gen drops.

Yep, and all the GM guys who gave the outgoing Mustang all sorts of crap for its archaic rear axle setup will now have to find some other thing to bash the car about. SOSDD.

Mustangs on average will likely remain faster through the 1/4. From base to premium models. Camaro owners will have a glass ceiling (or another excuse) so long as the Corvette is in town.

If Ford Racing had something to hide their wouldn't be drag components available in the first place . In the end the enthusiasts win as we are having fun watching and racing this new platform as the die hard Bowties on here continue to reach and bait anyone willing to bite.

Say what you will, but when it comes to Camaro and Mustang... Ford engineers wait for no one. From retro to classic, track oriented packages to full blown at a premium. If an update comes around the time of the 6th gen Camaro, please, don't take it personal because this pony is the originator and in some eyes two steps ahead of the game. I say this in the least confrontational way I possibly can.

yeah seeing as how the old 5.0 and the Camaro were a drivers race, and the new 5.0 is slower... makes sense that the new mustang will be faster.

The new Mustang had a marginal weight gain and a marginal power pump but switched to IRS. I do not know why anyone is surprised that it's running close the same times as the 2014s.

It's definitely going to handle A LOT better.

Speaking of handling, A/T Ecoboost with PP is only 2 seconds slower than a 13' 5.0L Track Pack around Willow.
