One of My Favorite Movie Scenes

Disclaimer: this has ZERO to do with religion, and ZERO to do with politics, I saw this film in western civ class in high school and fell in love with it.

From "Ben-Hur", tribune Massala comes home and asks his dear friend, close to brother, Judah, to help him find and kill Judah's town people to impress the Roman Emperor. The pain, anger, and sadness in this clip is classic cinema:

Heston could be a brilliant actor at times.

Watch Richard Lester's 1973 "The Three Musketeers" and it's sibling film (which was shot at the same time) "the Four Musketeers", Heston plays Cardinal Richelieu very subtly. Awesome flick, in my top five. The cast has Heston, Raquel Welch, Micheal York, Oliver Reed in a memorable turn as Athos, Christopher Lee as a deliciously vile Comte de Rochefort, Frank Finlay, Richard Chamberlain, Faye Dunaway...alternately humorous and heroic, with a clumsy Welch and York lending their characters a lot of humanity while still filling their roles to the max (and Welch's dress to the max). Fun films.

And did I mention Raquel Welch?

Ben Hur is hands down my all time favorite movie. To me it's the best epic movie ever made. I've yet to see a modern contemporary movie come close to even rival Ben Hur.
