Is this new?

I saw Count Chocula and Franken Berry cereal at the grocery store tonight. It was not in the regular aisle, but out in the promo section. Have I missed this for the last 40 years? Has it always been sold?

I wonder if the US had it long before us.. I am a bit of a grocery store fan, love food, and spend a lot of time browsing. Canada often doesn't even get food the US gets.

I believe only one is available year round... Count Chocula. When I was a kid (I'm 39) There were 3 versions all available all the time... Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry. (Chocolate, Raspberry, and Blueberry flavored) I think they bring out the discontinued 2 for a limited time around Halloween now.

Glad to help.. the sad part is that I read the nutritional value info - and it wasn't bad really. Wasn't good for anyone, but was barely on the bad side.

they've been around since the 70s in the U.S.
wikipedia says 1971.
i don't understand you say you remember them, but in your first post you said 'is this new?'

I can't believe they are back.

I'd heard that both had been finished off.... you know, by a cereal killer.

I understand. I have not seen them for years, and there they were. I was thinking they had been re-introduced. Yes, we ate them when I was a kid - going to have to say mid-70's. Asking if they are new was because we get different food up here than in the US, and perhaps they have always been out down south...
