The Ford GT is a Legend! Ford stood up and defended America when everybody else looked the other way. I hope they build this car!!!!!!

The GT40 is one of the greatest of all time but defending America wasn't the story I've heard. Henry Ford II wanted to piss in Enzo Ferrari's cornflakes.

Yes, HFII wanted to embarrass Enzo Ferrari after the sale fell through. Even without the GT40, at roughly that time the Ford DFV in the Lotus 49 was embarrassing Ferrari 312s in F1, which must have sorely wounded Il Commendatore.

In all honesty I would like to see it changed very little if any on exterior styling. If they make it they should focus more on performance. Give it a supercharged 5.8 with over 700HP, a lighter body using mostly aluminum and carbon fiber, a flawless drivetrain and a chassis/suspension that can handle like its on rails. It should be priced less than every exotic across the pond as well.

This^ they could keep the exterior almost the same but give it a Gt500 engine set to kill and fine tune everything else with it.

i saw an interview with Carroll Shelby the year before he died and while talking about he mentioned that Ford spent $200 million dollars to do it.

and yet the way people talk about it you'd think Ford was the underdog.

Enzo also called the original Willys Jeep America's only sportscar. I admire Enzo Ferrari and what he accomplished but the man was far from infallible.

Small changes to the Ford GT. Small. Don't Diablo the damned thing up. The GT40 is still one of the sexiest designs ever made. Sexier than a Miura. For the love of all that is holy, don't F this up, Ford. All you have to do is not step on your wiener.
First I'll start by saying the GT40 is my all time favorite car. However I also like this rendering. It emits the sole of the GT while moving it forward. Regarding the Miura I think it is a prettier design than the GT40, but the GT40 speaks to me. I'll take one in Gulf livery please.

Doubt it will happen but a twin turbo flat plane crank coyote variant would be a nice fit.

A boosted 5.2L may in fact end up the case. I dont remember where i heard (there's a lot of scuttlebutt out there) but there may be two versions. One for the street with a SC'd 5.2 and a race version using an extremely worked over "max effort" 3.5EB.
