With my current routine I find I am dropping weight pretty rapidly, faster than I anticipated, so I may increase the daily carbs slightly – so that they’re as high as what you probably have in a snack before your snack….

I love the insight into a man’s diet and routine by the way, I’ve always admired men for their strength training capabilities…it is something awesome and quite truly an art form. Women just can not compare that way. Like you I work biceps and back on the same day…I really love chin ups for that. But my big thing is working legs. I suppose you are big on a leg routine? Interestingly, I don’t see the guys at the gym doing much leg work, when it should be a priority since it primes the body for all other strength training.
GL with your goals.
Carbs are definitely tricky, they're easy to adjust, but take a little while to take effect when you change your intake. I too like reading about what others are doing. I hate seeing big guys who are strong, cut up, and working out, but not knowing what they eat, when they eat it, etc. I have no shame, so usually I just ask, most people don't mind talking about their routine. Working out is important, but it's the recovery and your diet that creates change.

Yes, I love leg day. Too many guys focus on upper body and skip legs completely, big mistake! I did legs today actually, started with heavy weight/low rep squats, then did lower weight/high rep deep squats, followed by leg extensions, leg curls, calf presses, and a few sets of leg presses to finish it off. I'm seeing some nice definition in my legs, especially my quads.

Good luck to you too!

if you were out at the track, walking around, that is exercise. Keep pushing along, stay determined. There are weekends you need some 'relaxing and fun', but don't let that stop the fitness train from moving forward.

No kidding! I was worn out! I had a very hard time getting out of bed this morning. & bMy back hurts so I did too much standing around (and a lot of walking & even stairs (to get from one side of the track to the other there is a bridge with stairs on either side). I definately need to do some things to work on that back.

Bump....

So since you haven't updated how is it going?

I was suppose to make the trip Sunday, but had to move my build because of "other" financial obligations....

But the offer is still there. Monique and I will make the drive Sunday but don't waste our time if you are not going to commit.

I have to go to my cousin's baby shower on Sunday and life keeps throwing me curve balls right now. So as much as I'd love to have you come & help me, no I can't commit to it right now. I have to punt and come up with a new plan. That little gym is just not going to work for me. I feel frustrated & stuck. Not sure what the answer is for me but I know something needs to change. Thank you very much for the offer.

Bump! We need to get this back on track. I need some folks to support & push me. I just keep putting on weight. Menopause is not helping but for sure it is not fully to blame.

Horseshit.

No matter what amount of external motivation you get from "folks" it will be short lived, temporary, and NOT what's needed. Until you decide to flip the switch internally, nothing will ever happen. Well I should say the same thing will keep happening. What's the definition of insanity? For me lifting for big heavy weight internally motivated me for 21 years....been treading water the last 6 but again my 80% workout is far more than most people's 100%......so what did I do? I joined Crossfit so I could compete, all day, every day against not only myself but others as well.

You got that right...YOU ARE TO BLAME....NO ONE AND NOTHING ELSE....YOU AND YOU ALONE BECAUSE OF THE CHOICES YOU MAKE ARE TO BLAME.

I know. Still struggling to find something that I will stick with. I'm just so disgusted with myself right now. One day I'm mad as hell & ready to do whatever it takes & the next just don't give a st!t. I have a class I am trying to go to but the weather kept me away from it for a couple of weeks. Heading back today. It is for sure better than nothing but not a very good class at all. I don't get my heart rate up, don't get sore, don't even work up a good sweat in that class.

Now I am back to thinking no matter what my personal problems are with the YMCA (locally) I just need to join it as they have many more classes & options for me so I have no excuses. I plan to use up the punch card for the class I am going to now (already paid for). Then start the Y. Need to clean up my eating some too.

I'm pretty mad at myself. I worked my butt off for 3 years to get to the best weight & in the best shape I had been in in like 20 years. Now in less that a year I'm back to worse off than before I started.
