but thats what it seems they are doing. ZR1s are expected to be 110-120k People were getting emotional that rumors of 100k starting price of the Z06. Much like people here getting pissed the z/28 was 75k A ZR1 at this point in time is pure speculation. GM may not even build one (although the hotrod lt4 article says otherwise) |

Excitement to me goes in hand with rarity and performance. I would be very excited to see a Z28 because I've never seen one, even though I'd never own one. A C7 pulling up next to me doesn't even get a glance anymore. I see more of them than I do SS Camaro's. I'd turn my head more at a 1LE. If I saw a Z06 on the road I'd have to chase it down to drive behind it for a few miles.

How many Z06s will be made? I'm sure it's more than the amount of Z/28s out there and that is still a factor.

I may be in the minority, but I wish they offered the Z/28 with the option to omit the carbon ceramic brakes like they are doing on the Z06. Even if they didn't call it a Z/28 unless you ordered everything, I'd have been very happy with the 500 hp engine option on a 1LE for about 8-10 grand less than the complete Z/28 package.

One does not cancel out the other. They are two wildly different cars. It would be an incredibly sad day if GM's only performance car was the Corvette. How boring. A fully loaded 2SS with all the options including 1LE comes damn close to the base model C7 price. So should fully optioned Camaros not exist because I could buy a Corvette? What if I want a Camaro, not a Corvette? Come on.

Bang for the buck is what it's all about.

Confirmed $90K with carbon ceramic brakes and mandatory aero package. See post #13 above. Weight has been confirmed at 349 pounds heavier than C6 Z06. Now 3500+. Still, At 650 HP, and excellent handling, the C7 Z06 is looking like a very good value in today's market..... AND, the Z/28 is still worth every penny for its intended purpose. |

If that is true and you can buy one for that price or close than that is awesome!

Clearly, I'm part of a dying minority. People today are more concerned with what gadgets are in the car but I'm not. I guess I'll have to stick with older cars while GM moves away from building cars for people like me. |
