your correct about the mags getting a lot of stuff wrong. I don't think I was trying to blame anyone here for it just saying that when I see it I like to correct it. One post did refer to the challenger hell cat as being a pig on skinny tires. I pointed out that the pig on skinny tires runs an 11.2 1/4 mile not bad for a pig on any kind of tires.

Yes, and the charger is .2 quicker than the challenger all the while sporting even more bacon on it's belly.

Let us have ten minutes of glory until GM and Ford spanks us again.
The Hellcat (and the 2015 interior) got me thinking about muscle cars again. Varied opinions like those here are useful.

You signed up to share that pearl? You need to get out more often. SLOW is what Mopar Maniacs have been used to, for some time now. And, for a car that isn't in the hands of any paid-my-money customers, the fastest thing ya got, right now, is your two-finger typing.

So your mission, here (if you choose to accept it), is to get us to admit that the reported 1/4-mile times for an AUTOMATIC HC are much quicker than the usual times for a ZL1? THAT'S your mission?

In the immortal words of everyone's favorite president, Dubya, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. And I never shed a single tear.

To get the same quote for the 6-Speed would actually require one to have a recorded time. Which it DOESN'T. And there are many out there. right now in the hands of those always-objective auto-scribes. And STILL no times. What's with THAT?!

Bring it to a slalom, or a road-course. Then we'll look forward to your admission in return. Fair?

Remember, they're watching.
The 1/4 mile times from dodge are certified by the NHRA. Show me any time from anyone for a stock ZL-1 that runs faster that 11.2 on street tires. The charger runs it in 11.0. No stock ZL-1 any where runs faster if it did Chevrolet would stand up and say so. Chevrolet will not get the NHRA to do a certification on the ZL-1 because that would make it official that the ZL-1 is slower.

For some reason, you just signed up today. So you could arrive in this thread and add WHAT to this discussion, of a positive nature? I thought so. TRAN spared no expense to buy THE most so-fist-E-cated software just to track new members with nefarious intent. I'm not saying you're in the cross-hairs, BUT...

You again? Ordered your new Checker Cab, yet?

Not until I collect on my bet with you...

"For one BRIEF shining moment" is all I can say. And stay away from GT500s with your 6-Speed HCs.

I love when a GM guy has to use Ford to fight their battles, that must have made your tongue swell in agony... Oh wait that's what the C7Z is for...

Have you sent the $200 yet? I'm waiting.
Whenever you're ready... Maybe you and Lowdown can take up a collection

THIS JUST IN:

Budweiser has announced a joint marketing initiative with FCA. Budweiser will no longer use Clydesdales to haul it its keg-wagon. Instead, they'll hitch 8 Hellcats to the yoke. "It has always been our fans' wishes that we slow the processions down, and this we see as a viable way to meet those objectives", said Budweiser in their press release. Sergio offered no further comment.

Budweiser may not like what you just posted about them. When you have the fastest car on the block you don't need to comment the performance speaks for itself.

What, exactly, does that mean, in "real" terms?

it simply means the time was apparently run on an NHRA-certified track. ONLY! Which means the clocks were exactly 1320' apart. That's ALL it means. It is NOT a statement of what the vehicle did/did not contain. It is NOT a statement of the car being "stock". It is NOT a statement that it ONLY had 707 hp (maybe the belt was disconnected and it was making 800+, as accurately reported).

Strip was 1320' to the clocks, with an NHRA sanction. THAT'S IT.

The rest is, like 6-speed times and other Automatics clicking off sub-11.70s, purely a guess.

Why the continued embargo? Answer me THAT.

I heard the beer was for us ZL1 owners to drown our sorrows once we get demolished on the street and the strip... Hell maybe if I drink enough Budweiser it might make me think I'm driving on the Nürburgring on the way home from my local strip...

I live near the track where the times were certified pacific raceways in kent wa. I run there all summer long.. What do you think it means. The NHRA had reps there to check the car and attest to the fact that the times were accurate. I know it hurts your feelings but not much you can do about it.

YOU offered the bet. I offered the terms.

Where's the 10-$20s? I accept VISA-MC-Amex, if you're short of funds.

Go back and read what I wrote. "other Automatics" references the time slips that have now been shown here about 6 different times. By ONE-only car.

Reading comprehension. NOT your strong point.
