Malibu/ correction: Cruze rice

My wife took this shot today on our way to get a bite to eat. I didn't realize a Malibu was in need of added down force. And if it was, I'm not sure it's that important.

Your probably right. My wife just thought it was a Malibu and I didn't question it. Although I did think that it looked a bit small. Anyway, that thing on the trunk lid looked .......well.....out of place to say the least.

Yeah it's a Cruze.

GM sells a very nice and small lip spoiler that actually helps a smidgen with aero. This...not so much.

yeah it is on the Eco model and I THINK an option on the other ones and may be on the RS package, the Cruze we have in the family is a Eco.

The best way to tell a Cruze from a Malibu, aside from the fact that they look nothing like the other, is the badge on the back that says either MALIBU or CRUZE. While it doesn't stand out as much as that ridiculous wing, it works.

Clearly, you are more skilled at reading low contrast text off the back of a moving car that is positioned on the far side of your car while attempting to take a picture of it and not getting distracted by the big goofy wing on its trunk ... than the OP's wife is. And if I'm being honest, you're probably better than I am at that particular skill as well.

I reckon so.

edit: it actually works for all cars too, not just Malibu and Cruze. Neat trick, try it.

I added the same downforce to my SS by putting 5 pounds of detailing junk in the trunk.

If you live to be our age Frank and season with age , you'll be able to look back and realize that being smug about such trivial details is bitter and unethical. I used to be able to see small details as lettering at a glance when I wore a younger pair of eyes. However in this case I was driving in somewhat heavy traffic and didn't take note of the rear badging. I'm also not all that familiar with as many makes and model cars as I used to be. I did however mention above that when my wife pointed out the wing on the car next to us and thought it was a Malibu that I did think that it seemed a bit small for a Malibu but didn't question it as I didn't feel it made much difference. Apparently you feel different. Have a nice day.
