One of the nice perks in California is that motorcycles can use the carpool/HOV lanes. This is why I use my Harley Sportster 48 for commuting. Many people in Silicon Valley buy a hybrid/electric car that gets the HOV sticker. This is also the reason that Tesla sells so well. If you are in the market for a $75,000+ luxury car, the Tesla gets the HOV sticker and the equivalent Audi/BMW/MB does not.

I think the Slingshot is awesome, it would cooler(no pun intended) if you could drive it without a helmet. But basically it is a sub $20,000 KTM X-bow/Ariel Atom competitor that you get to drive in the commuter lane. Since it doesn't rain 9 months out of the year here, I would get a lot of use out of it. A motorcycle still has the advantage, because in California you can lane split, obviously the Slingshot can not.

You could probably buy it($20K), drive it for 2 years and sell if for $15K. At basically $200 a month, it is worth it just for the HOV perk!

I like it. Not enough to buy one. It would a cool machine for weekend mountain cruising in lieu of the motorcycle.

No clue. A guy on here with a Z/28 has a BAC Mono. It's like a KTM X-bow on roids. Are you talking about the T-Rex or the CanAm Spyder?

Stupidest weekend I ever had.
Sounds like yet another use for a blow-up doll

I'd buy a new Camaro LS before I bought one of those. And probably save some money doing it. I'm banking insurance will eat your wallet. I could be wrong, but I bet I'm not.
Just got two insurance quotes, Formost $657 and Progressive $1438. I guess the progressive number is starting to nibble at my wallet but won't eat it. The $657 isn't much more than my bike insurance. El ess A, I guess I shoulda bet ya

Id hate to get Tboned in that thing no side protection at all. It looks cool and will prolly sell a bit for a year or so then die down. Id rather have a Caterham 7 than this even though I know they cost a lot more.

haha. That's pretty good. Only that x-bow is hideous, though. Maybe if it came with an ECF hood insert...

What can I say? I'm partial to Camaros. When given the semi-equal price, man, it would have to really be something to keep me out of the Camaro.

That insurance may or may not be bad. But 1438 is a bit large. Maybe because it's so new?

The more I watch the video, the better I'm liking it. It's kinda like the 2014 taillights for some...I might can be swayed later on.

Great color (reminds me of CRT) btw.

I'm considering picking one of these up myself.

But I just got a Miata set up for the track last year but think the Slingshot may be a bit more fun.

Does have a little supercharger on it also.

Funny my boss just checked one of these out and showed me all the pics, I then looked it up on youtube and local dealers. Looks fun as hell, but would depend on weather for sure with being all open it would have to be nothing more then a every now and then toy. In az we could not use this for atleast 5 months of the year I would die from heat. However if the boss buys one, ill be sure to use bribes, etc to drive it!
