MotorTrend: 11.7 @ 125mph

By comparison the M5 runs 11.9 @ 122mph with only 575HP. The trap speeds are just not adding up. Has anybody dyno'd the HelloKitty?
I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but Dodge made it pretty clear that the 11.2 was done on a NHRA track. Even though I have said that GLD has pretty good track prep, this was at a test n tune night on a IHRA track. the grove is one of my favorite tracks to race at, but on test n tune nights they can get a bit lazy on the track prep. On slick night, and days where they have events they prep that track pretty damn good.

There was quite the difference when I raced at Route 66 raceway in Joliet(NHRA Track), vs Great Lakes Dragaway.

Regardless, that thing is beautiful and in the right hands will be a monster car.

11.4s are close enough for me. That's still almost a second faster than the average zl1 times according to the zl1 stock fast list. Face it guys, we are much slower and need to see what the gen6 car will bring. It's pretty hard to say something is black when it is clearly white. Denial is keeping these threads alive.

Thanks for not providing answers to my questions.
1. Why did it only trap 122 with 700+HP?
2. Where are the manual transmission times?
3. Has anyone strapped Hellokitty to a dyno?

Indeed, in a separate test by MotorTrend it trapped 125mph...with an 11.7 ET (care to explain that?). But in the Cars.com test it trapped 122mph. I can't think of any reason a 700+HP car should only trap 122mph considering cars with significantly less power (and equal weight) are trapping that.

2013 M5, 560hp 11.9 @ 123mph
2013 E63, 518hp 12.0 @ 124mph
http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...-e63-amg-1.pdf

2013 M5 CP, 575hp 11.9 @ 122mph
2013 E63 S, 577hp 11.7 @ 122mph
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/specs.html

This is disappointing. I was really hoping for more from the automatic. Maybe the C&D and R&T reviews can shed some light.

Nope watch Jay Lenos garage. The President/CEO of Dodge/SRT says the Hellcat is Limited to 199 due to Aerodynamics.

Answers for your questions.
1) It doesn't matter how much HP you have. It all depends on how you put it down and weight plays a huge factor, as does tires.
2) No manual times yet. Why? I do not know. I think a lot of people are waiting for those as well.
3) No one has done a dyno on the HC as it is not available to the public yet. And for those vendors that may have the cars, if they do, I bet SRT has told them to keep it under wraps till it is released.
Hope that helps.

My thoughts exactly. It's clearly every bit as fast as they said it would be, and much quicker than anything GM currently offers. Time to play catch up.

Admittedly. I frequented the strip when I was 16/17 but quickly got bored. I found road courses much more demanding for the car and driver. I make it to the strip 2-3 times a year now - just doesn't do it for me anymore.

You mean vs the Camaro in a straight-line right? I'm not convinced the puffed up SRT is going to keep up with the ZL1 on anything with turns involved. The outgoing Z06 is just as fast, and the outgoing ZR1, well, that's in another league. The 2015 Z06 will bend the Hellokitty over and have its way. If GM decides to do a C7 ZR1...Dodge who?

Your posts are quickly starting to bore me. Gosh, now you're pulling cars from a different league into this?

Let's put things back into perspective here since you wont. The Hellcat is in the league of the Camaro & Mustang being its a pony/muscle car.

Pulling the C7 Z06 means your desperate and grasping for straws. Also, it's been noted that the base C7 Z06 will probably cost over 25K (85K starting price) more than the base Hellcat.

Take the advice below......

Once again someone that changes the conversation to the Corvette when the facts finally get to them. I would hope the Corvette could beat the challenger , or it would be a huge fail on GM's part. The Corvette is a full blown sports car and not in the same segment as the challenger.

I just love that SRT8 owners said they were in a league of their own so it's not fair to compare a SRT8 Challenger to a Camaro or Mustang but now they have the Hellcat and now it's okay....I still think it's a car with very inflated performance numbers and a one trick pony.
