Kudos to you. Unsung hero as far as I'm concerned.

Well, it's been an okay day.

....

Actually, I kinda want to vent for a sec.

On Wednesday, something tragic happened. Our daylight sergeant was out w/ his 14 year old boy and sarges dad, the grandpa. The three were out hunting when grandpa's gun somehow got caught up on a branch pulling the trigger. The 14 year old boy was accidentally shot. He died in his fathers arms. The service is tomorrow...a bunch of us are going into work early so the daylight guys can go to the funeral and pay their respects.

Now. I have a question. Supposedly all things happen for a reason.

What in the world was the reason for this...................

I'm sorry that I'm mad. But, this is just wrong.......plain wrong...

I never got the chance to meet you, Taylor. But, I knew your Dad. Know that you will be missed sorely by countless people. Sarge, I'm so increadibly sorry. Words just can't even begin to describe how sorry I am for you and your family. I hope...I pray... ...Your whole family will be in my prayers.

Tag,
Just something to think about. It may not help the family but it might help you a little.

I'm sure you already know what I'm gonna type... Sometimes it helps to hear it again.

The only reason is; we live in an imperfect place. We cannot see the future and we cannot prevent accidents. There's no one to blame. I'm sure that you, more than most of us, have seen when people are deliberately killed and when accidentally. Unfortunately neither is absolutely preventable.

Sure, without a doubt, loss is loss and it always hurts. No answers can stop the hurt, only time. Peace and comfort will come.

May not make you feel better now, but hopefully it may help you see a little better.

Didn't mean to overstep. Just wanted to encourage a little. I have no doubt you would do the same.

With that, I have no concept of what they are going through. I can't comprehend that much sorrow.

I guess it's true, love your children every day you have them.... You just never know.

I'm so very sorry.

If there is a need for a donation to the family, just say the word.

Sincerely,

Chris

Jak, convicts aren't allowed to practice martial arts?

GTAHVIT, what ATFP stuff are you doing? I just went through one of NCIS' training schools.

Tag, I'm really sorry to hear that. Back in high school, we lost about one kid a year from some sort of hunting accident and no matter how often it happens, it's always incredibly tragic.

Today was a simple day, being a Saturday and all. Slept in, PTed, hung around watching movies and surfing the internet, cleaned and treated the 'Stang's leather and now I'm here.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Please pass on my condolences to the father. And especially to the grandfather -- that has to be tearing him apart.:(

Tag, I'd just like to add to the many thoughts here for your sarge and his family. I lost a cousin to a hunting accident around 12 years ago (he was 20), and I remember all too well what pain his parents went through. Parents are never meant to bury their own children, and my deepest condolences go out to them in this terrible time.

No, it's a big rule violation. The con could lose anthing from phone, packages, rec on up to being boxed. Besides, we're out numbered, we don't need to give the cons any more weapons. But they do allow boxing, so go figure If it were up to me I wouldn't allow that either.

It does help.

Actually, yes. I have. Numerous times. And (and I know this might sound bad) but it's pretty easy seeing death when it's not someone you know. I mean, you feel for the person and their families....but you feel 10000000 times more when it's a child or someone you know.
Sure, without a doubt, loss is loss and it always hurts. No answers can stop the hurt, only time. Peace and comfort will come.

Naw, it does. I just feel so bad for sarge and his family. And, as sad as it is...I can't even fathom what they are going through.
Didn't mean to overstep. Just wanted to encourage a little. I have no doubt you would do the same.
No overstepping AT ALL. You did. And...I sure would.

exactly.
I'm so very sorry.

Thanks for the kind words and I'm very sorry to hear about your cousin. Parents shouldn't have to do that...the thought is just horrible....ugh...

But on this note... I used to be in a group called prop-busters. We'd fly our airplanes all the time out at the field. The coolest part about it was that it was right next to the highway and you could fly over 1604 (the loop) and people in cars would stare...hehe. Some of the cars would stop and watch the planes. That was a hobby I wish I'd never gotten out of. I built an Eagle 2 many years ago...in middle school. The first time I took it up to fly it on my own, the batteries died on take off. I overcharged them one too many times. You know what happens when you overcharge and the batties die.......the servos lock up. The plane went full throttle and hard right. It went right into the safety net completely out of control and crashed. Bye, bye plane.

I'd love to get another. Still have the engine and RC controller/servos. I'm sure I'd buy new, though. No more problems w/ all that!

My sister later had to have a hysterectomy too because of a massive growth, and my wife went out to Oregon to help her through it. I guess I kind of think that was one reason.
I'm sorry about your sister in law. Congrats to your wife, though. That must have been very scary. My wifes dad beat cancer a while back. I just don't know the reasons.
