Yea you are right. Book value for his truck stock is very close to the value of mine. Then he has about 30-35k in upgrades. I have to go take this beast for a long test drive. I only drove it in pouring rain when we met up. I need to just look at him and tell him i need to go drive this truck like i would drive it if i owned it to see if its what i want. 800rwhp and 1000 ft lbs of touque should be pretty nuts when i get in it from a roll. And would be great having my wife and daughter in the truck with me and anyone on the road i should be able to destroy. That is a nice feeling to have under your foot

I just love my Camaro I've had a fully built termi cobra , c5 z06, but my Camaro Ss is the one car I'm having a hard time getting rid of. Man this is tough. It's either the truck or I'm keeping my Camaro for a long time and maybe will get a c6 z06 down the road. A truck like this if I pass it up won't happen again for a trade opportunity.

Can do a trade and some cash on my side. So wondering if the truck is gonna fill my hp fix when i drive it. Yes its a ton of hp but its not a sports car. Plus i would add 6k on my loan. And i wonder even if its built right it has more of a chance of screwing up over my practically new camaro. Looking for advice from my fellow camaro bros. Do i keep my camaro ss or trade it plus cash for the built duramax.

Keep the Camaro, worth more money + that truck with those mods will give you problems....

This is my camaro. I know it is mint thats why im having a hard time. I only have 6500 miles . Thats not even a oil change with mobil 1!!! Ive put a vmax ported TB, JBA HF headers, magnaflow exhaust, barton short throw shifter, shift skip delete, rotofab intake. Other than that its all stock. Its perfect in everyway.
I know his truck has 12k on everything but he said he has pulled with it worried about how much he has pulled with it and how hard its been driven for the 12k. I know mine has been driven easy and spirited driven for maybe 3k miles by myself after i took owner ship and installed upgrades my self.

That truck should only be worth $28000 if it's stock and mint......nobody ever gets $ for "mods" ........I've owned lots of duramax trucks and theres no way with that much HP the thing is going to stay together......cool yes....but don't do the trade,.....just my opinion

Honestly I would do it, but it is your car so it's your call. I would at least take it for a spirited test drive like someone above mentioned and see if you like it enough to give up your car. See if he'd be willing to let you test drive for an hour or two so you can get a real feel on the truck.

Thank you for the advice. Remember though the duramax has a fully built motor from socal engines forged pistons , rods, ported heads , cam, fully built tranny, upgraded cooling and fuel system, garret 65mm turbo all upgraded manifold piping. Suspension upgrades. No where close to stock in any form. But I was thinking even so when your at that much hp things let go sometimes. And I wonder how 12k miles were used. Towing the snot out of it on the drag pulling a sled? Just worries me that's all. I know my car and the ls3 we'll. it's a great motor.

Yea that's what I'm planning on doing. I'm gonna call the bank first to see if it's even possible to add the 6k on my loan and if they would take the truck on the loan. Then see if I can go take it for a hour or so and really drive it. If not I will make the decision then to keep my Camaro. It may feel to heavy and I may not like the handing. It's a truck so I'm wondering if the fun factor wil still be there. Driving is more than going straight. nothing like sliding onto the on ramp with the Camaro sideways in second gear than blasting into third. The Camaro is a fun car to drive and it's nice rowing the gears. Auto transmission take away that feeling a little

I am having a hard time thinking the bank will let u add 6k to the loan you already have to get this trucks as they might suggest a 6k personal loan and then whatever they decide to try and get to a loan from at 2010 to a 2006 cause they wont take mods into consideration only what the Blue book or Black book value of the truck. As for the trade I wouldn't do it cause it has been used to Tow and even though its a built engine made for the power it makes the body and everything else still has 90k on it how long ago did he lower it are the wheel bearings holding up? lots of other things have to come into play.

Everything else is new and has 12k on it. Since its been built he has pulled with it meaning pulled sleds at a track against other trucks im not sure how many times. Thats somewhat a worry. Thats like building my camaro and taking it to a drag strip than telling someone it has 12k on it. Well 12k all track miles could be like over 100 passes. And as far as loan i only owe 11k on my camaro so if i added 6k it would be 17k i would owe for the truck. And i look at as adding more cash to a loan gets me further away from paying it off thats all no matter how nice the truck is. A vehicle is that much better when its paid off!!!

I had a buddy with a newer Duramax 4x4, lifted, 36" tires. He had a handheld programmer where he could adjust HP/Torque on the fly. That truck was a rocket! I'd do it but like you stated, those pulls would worry me too.
