Dodge is making 3000 of them so doubt to many dealers will have markups. I know mine is coming at MSRP. I re-confirmed with dealer today. I believe august 8 is official date to order.

Which Camaros? When? LS9 Gen-5s? No...too late. Z/28? What do the other two have for it, exactly? 1LE? For under-$40K, what does Mother Mopar have, again, for this one?

It weighs more than a ZL1, without MRC as a Standard Feature. It doesn't have brakes like the Z/28.

By the time you "fully equip it" for ALL motorsports challenges, and challengers (small case), the price will NOT be sub-$60...

FACT.

Here is your problem and it’s a really big one. This Hellcat will be capable of thoroughly embarrassing the stock ZL1, Z/28s, and most head to head GT500 encounters in the forum that 99% of us play with our vehicles (street & strip) in, 99% of the time.
Fact is Chevy doesn’t have an answer and now looks really bad pricing the Z/28 at 75k. The only hope is that Chevy will “Finally” offer upgraded HP for 16.
So if you want to lay all your hope on the 1% go ahead

You do realize both challenger and ZL1 are running 6 piston brembos. On weight ZL1 and challenger are close. Both have active suspension and for basically same price you get more torque and horsepower. To me sounds like ZL1 just went down in flames.

If you want a challenger to compete with Z28 it would need to start as a RT with scat pack. based on cost differences I could do allot to the challenger and still be ahead.

No matter how you cut this round ford and Dodge have the lead. As much as I like the challenger I suspect the new SVT will be taking allot of the focus in the next months if it comes out with 750HP at 3600 pounds. It will be a monster.

I don't think they look bad pricing the Z/28 at 75K...

It's a totally different car, i don't know how people still don't understand that.

It's a niche product...make a product and they will come?

Now with the Camaro being the slowest of the 3 GM is going to need to do something to up the HP with the SS and ZL1.

The Z28 with its price will be sitting on the lots a bit longer than GM would like.

Exactly. The Z/28 is COMPLETELY different than the Hellcat. Now if Ford comes out with the "Voodoo engine" making ~550 hp and redlining at 8,000 rpms you now have a direct competitor to the Z/28 and I may just have to consider buying a Mustang.

LOL not at all. It's a low volume, niche product. GM will have NO problem selling the Z/28.

IMO the problem I see using the benchmark ZL1 at 56k, they made the Z/28 which is nearly 20k more expensive and barely beat the ZL1’s track times. To do this they had to add R-series racing rubber. Is the car a niche item-sure is, but $$ value the Hellcat, ZL1, and 500 blow it out of the water.

It's not just the tires though, the brakes make a huge improvement on the car. I had a track day this past Saturday with my club. One of our members brought his Z/28 and the braking distances of the Z/28 is vastly superior to that of an SS and ZL1.

REALITY CHECK:

Who had the MEANEST MUTHA on the streets of San Francisco in 1970? Those damn HemiCudas 'n Challengers! Awesome cars, they were, and I can say that cuz I had a friend who owned one.

How many did they sell?

6-PAKs...AWESOME!! How many sold?!

Fact is, darn few people are persuaded by all this...darn few. Will some Camaros get traded in? Yup...darn few. Will some nitwit with a GT500 see the sky as falling, and rush down to the Mopar Palace and gobble up a Richard Rawlings-approved TomCat? Yup. Meanest mutha on the street...this week...

90% of buyers won't look at, let alone buy, a Mopar anything...FACT. So, in the hyper-hysteria of 707 HP!!!! and "runs 10s with a Monkey in the seat!", what will it really matter? Sergio, himself, will STILL wear black sweaters (no upgrade happening there)...and Dearborn Dandies will buy their latest-up-to-datest Mustangs...and the General's privates/corporals/sergeants/etc. will buy what pleases them if/when they can/will...

Game...Set...Match...

707 hp? In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle USMC, "GOLLL-LEEEEE!" Oh, and "Shazam!"
