Kids say the darndest things!

Just thought I’d share a little story…That made my week!

Now as some of you already know…I’ve taken possession of a 2005 C6 Z51 Corvette!

I received the car early Tuesday morning and shortly after which…I needed to pick up my 5 year daughter from preschool.

So...I thought I’d surprise her and pick her up in the Vette

As we walked out of the preschool building…she saw the new Vette and ran over to it…and said

“Daddy!...is this the car from the Speed Racer movie”

My Response
“Nope….but it should be”

She agrees saying…
“Ya this car ROCKS”

As were driving home, I punch it a few times and she just screams “Faster Daddy....faster!”!!!!!....Such a daddy’s girl.

Just before we arrive home, some chump in a Mustang pulls up next to me. And my daughter looks over at the Mustang and says.

“Daddy!...Doesn’t Ricky (My misguided 19 year old son who drives a Mustang) drive one of those Mistakes?” (yes she call a Mustang a Mistake!!!!!!!!!!)

I almost spit my Mocha all over the dash of the Vette.

Once I regained my composure…I responded.

"Yes dear…he does drive one of those “Mistakes” (grining ear to ear)

God….I love my little girl!!!

You are a brave man drinking a mocha in a Vette.

I had my ex-wife daughter all into my Supra, and one day we had a similar experience with another import. It was a Civic or something revving up on me and she looks at the car and just simply says "that's rice".

I loved it.

Naw...

Not that I’m bragging (because I’m a very modest guy) but something I've notice...When your driving a Vette, everyone wants to race...ESPICALLY Mustangs.....I don’t get it!

I guess they have something to prove...and.....well in a Vette...you don't! The reputation speaks for itself.

I find I drive slower than I do in the H2! It’s just nice to cruise…Knowing you can crush most anything (stock) on the road.

BUT when I get my SS or Z28 …I’ll put that “Mistake” in its place.

This is why I want a car with power. It's there if I decide to have fun, but I can just cruise, KNOWING that it's a monster when it's let loose. I have a feeling I'll be driving slower than in my Saturn most of the time. The other 5-10% of the driving time will be letting the demon out.

Aww, I hope when I have kids they turn out just like that. It would certainly make up for the poop.

I had a similar experience with my 8 yr old daughter. She loves my Harley, and love to ride with me. After going for a ride, coming home and subsequently going to the grocery in the car I pointed out a couple crotch rockets that had pulled up behind us at a light. She non-chalontly glanced back at them, looked at me and said," Rice, why would ya?"
