So I get up close to him drop the 392 into 4th and start my creep. I first saw the hood and it looked un SS like then down at the finder and yup ZL1. Well I was commited at that point so I punched it. Fortunately he didnt follow suit and turned off at the next exit lol

I don't know how anyone could possibly knock a 707hp factory car of any make and call themselves a car guy. Guess I will never get Fanboyism no matter what brand you sleep with. I know I'm signing up for one and I'll park it along side my ZL1 unless it ruins me for it.
Completely agree, I'd rather have a Hellcat than a GT500, and a GT500 over a ZL1.

I totally agree with you. It seems like every time the Camaro gets out gunned by our competitors in HP or beat in the 1/4 mile, someone has to bring up a road course and how the Camaro (1LE, ZL1, or Z28) will run circles around them. I would love to know how many people on here actually track their cars anyway. Before the ZL1 you never heard that lingo tossed around like you do now. I would have to bet much more run them down the 1320 at the strip than they do on a road course. I give credit where credit is due. Dodge stepped up and put together an awesome machine. This is an awesome era to be in right now. This kind of stuff is what pushes the HP in these cars like we have seen since the introduction of the 5th gen. GM could have played it safe back then and came out with a 350HP Camaro SS and still had something on the Mustang GT, but they choose to go big which then forced Ford to step up there game. It never ends and that's what's fun right now. Who know how long these HP battles will be able to last before uncle Sam steps in. By the looks of the upcoming CAFE regulations it sounds like things are not to far off.

For those who think a Challenger SRT8 is a straight line car only, have you driven one? They handle way better than people given the credit. I could take my Challenger SRT8 thru the twisties faster & smoother than my 2012 Camaro SS. I would hope the Hellcat will handle even better.

Their next trick is to stick it to all the doubters who claimed that the Hellcat would never be able to outrun the 500, it was too heavy, too big, tires were to small, the 400lb+ deficit could never be overcome. Hell some in here claimed it would only run low 12s. Dodge responds with 11:20s.
Fast forward to now as the battle for straight line supremacy is over! The competition now begins with track times and how it will never compete with the Camaro or the GT in the twisties. The same excuses are there again: too big, too heavy, tires to small, ancient suspension, etc, etc. Does Dodge have yet another shocker to unleash?
What I find funny is long ago I said to expect the Hellcats performance to be on par with a full bolt on ZL1 which run 10:80s-11:20s I guess I was right.
All this being said the reality of me ever owning this Hellcat is slim to none as I simply can’t afford to spend 65k on a car, so a used modded ZL1 automatic is still my goal.

enough with the burnouts already....any rear wheel drive car with 175+HP can do them...let some average Joes run them down the quarter or for the ILE,Z28,ZL1 crowd, run one around a road corse.

I also agree with this statement. I didn't get into this argument because people that have never driven one only base there statements on what some magazine tells them. My buddy has a 2012 392 and it is a very well balanced car.

Because when Chevy introduced the ZL1 it was the fastest on the 1/4 mile strip and the track. Ford and Dodge have not replicated that. Incomplete.

Ah come on! Who doesn't love a good burnout! My Challenger has 19,000 miles and is on it's 4th set of tires!!! If the wife burns up the new Pilot SS's I'm gonna strangle her!!!
