Unhappy It's a sad time at CFD

Hi everyone.

I don't know if anyone here has heard of Chick Brignolo, he was the onwner of Brignolo Chassis and has been building cars and hot rods up until a few weeks ago when his battle with cancer won the final race. A little history. Chicky was a good friend of mine, he started his business here in Dedham, very close to my shop, back in the early seventies.Although he was a bit older than me, I used to hang around with him at a few of the local hot spots for hot rodders and bikers, , I often hung at his shop where he let me use some of his equipment when building wheelie bars and chassis components for my cars and bikes. I often had a chance to get real close( by close I mean sitting in and in some cases tinkering with) some famous cars that were always around. Well any ways Chicky passed last week. Some of the older guys here may remember some of his work, he built the chassis on some famous funny cars such as " The Boston Strangler", Seargenti's " Brute", " Blue Thunder" just to name a few. Here are a couple of photo's from those years.

I knew a couple of the Bevelaquas. When we were kids, we thought they were insane. One of them rode his bicycle off the roof at Greenlodge school on a dare. I must have driven by your shop a thousand times.

I wonder if you recognize this '70? My DD from '89 to '96 then summer only '97 to '06. It was red from '89 to '96. Nothing terribly special but I was all over Dedham Milton Norwood Canton Sharon Easton Westwood, and the South Shore with this thing

That was Rob. lol I used to date his sister Debbie. Their father WAS nuts. lol. I probably saw it many times because I've been there for 29 yrs and lived in Dedham a while before that. My shop is directly across from Maco auto body, the DPW and back then there was Oakland lumber. There's always hot rods and bikes around, River st was my testing ground for my drag bike. lol.

Yes , it's a bummer. It's funny because most people know the guys racing the cars but the builders are not usually known. He built some awesome cars through the years from funny cars, wheel standers and many, many hot rods.

You're a lucky guy to have been so close to him. I'm sure you learned a lot.

Every July Chick would host a party at his shop in Norton to celebrate his birthday, it was a good time with some great cars. Here is a link to his '09 party. You can spot him, he's the guy cutting the birthday cake.

Every year it got bigger and bigger. He told everyone this year would be the last one because of his sickness. It would have been next weekend.

Oh man... I bet everyone gets together to remember him anyway. At least I hope they do.
