I have to disagree.

9mm is more than enough to stop a threat. .45 may cause more carnage but 9mm travels a considerable velocity faster than a .45. If you are having a problem stopping a threat with a 9mm, your shots may not be where they are supposed to.

I have a buddy that got shot by a 9mm, and he can contest that it does enough to put you down, and that was just in his leg.

Many police departments are switching from mainly .40/.45 to 9mm now. Also frees up space and adds in a few rounds.

Different strokes for different folks.

9mm hollow point rounds will stop any threat if the shots are placed on target. My dad was deployed as an MP with a Barreta 92FS that was 9mm and my uncle is a police officer and he carries a 40 S&W glock.

Seals continue to use the Sig P226 in 9mm.

I'll take much less recoil and more rounds over a slight increase in stopping power. That is also the only advantage. the wound cavity and internal balastics on two good self defense rounds in 9mm and 45 acp have negligible differences at best.

Again just my rational. As long as you train consistently and know how to shoot well, you are eons ahead of most people. Plus you carry everywhere you are legally allowed to, that is a huge component.

As a side note, I have a full sized .45 acp handgun for home defense. In a platform with many bullets, and a larger gun to more easily manage recoil I will take the advantages then. Not in an EDC platform.

Didn't catch the word that was censored.. Obama?

Don't get me wrong, I am by all means pro-gun and 2nd amendment.

I'm just saying, from my real life experiences with people being shot and seeing the carnage, the size of a bullet doesn't ever come into play if you are just comparing pistols. I've been fortunate enough to see, experience and almost be on the receiving end of fire fights, I used to have the same mentality about .45 vs. 9mm. After all, a .45 is only 2.5mm larger.

To each their own, at least we all agree on pro-gun.

Being from Texas must make you inherently badass

Just like being from alabama makes you inherently stupid.

Yet, they still do not allow open carry of handguns and have restrictions on long guns. Seems much more restrictive than Alabama's current laws. Also more restrictive laws on knives as well.

First column is long guns, second column is handguns.

Alabama's laws

Texas' laws

Now I do not open carry as I do not consider it tactically advantageous in any way. It just doesn't seem to me that they are more "free" than I am.

It's as if I live in some parallel universe where there is more to life than handgun laws.

Really pretty screenshots though.

I remember when this thread was fun. Forum has gone to shit.

Just the current topic we were on.

Just data to reinforce a point, I guess a link is preferred?

Sorry for making this thread no fun. Lol.

Jtruck, are you allowed to legally concealed carry in Arizona at your age? Alabama passed a law allowing 18 years of age to be the legal age 5 months ago or so.
