It's not a carbine, but midlength. Might suit you well though.

Sold most of my firearms, but still have some toys. Recently picked up this springfield TRP operator and a Kelley gun leather holster. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1403306694742.jpg

Yeah I know they are super busy I just hope they can replenish the stock. If not no worries I'll find something eventually.

I love that...but only problem is by the time I buy a quad rail I'm going to be over my budget with that one. Especially since it doesn't come with the BCG.

Speaking of BCGs...does anyone know of a reputable company that sells Chrome BCGs other than rock river? I love theirs but didn't know if anywhere had a good one for less than their $170. I've found some cheaper but damn I hate not knowing anything about these companies.

The only difference between chromed and non-chromed BCG's is looks. Functionally speaking, they are the same. What matters on the BCG is the inside and it is chromed regardless of the company. I've got both chromed and non-chromed BCG's and the chromed BCG was the biggest waste of money I've spent so far on an AR. Personally I'll never buy another chromed BCG again.

As for chrome lined barrels vs chrome moly vs stainless, you need to first figure out what kind of rifle it's going to be and what range you are going to be shooting at. Is it going to be a blaster that you shoot at close range, a range toy that you take out every couple months and shoot at 200-400 yrds, or is it going to be a target gun. Chrome lining a barrel increases it's longevity but hurts it's accuracy, this makes it a great option for blasters that see a lot of rounds but most people see it as a less desirable option for range toys and is a "stay away" option for target guns. Stainless steel is the best of everything and is a most have for target guns but is overkill for anything else.

Thanks. It's a beautiful 1911. It's the most accurate handgun I've owned to date.

I understand and yes the chrome BCG would be for looks only. I also want a fancy looking flash hider as well. I just want the gun to look cool, shoot accurate, and not break my bank. I don't think thats a combination I'm going to find haha.

My plan is to take this to the range and fire some rounds, but mainly to have it just to have an AR in case sh*t ever goes down. I plan to get the gun, shoot 50-100 rounds through it a month, and stockpile ammo.

So this will work perfectly for me I think?

Any disadvantages to a 1:9 twist?

This is what I came across per major differences. I went 1:7 on my build.

The 1:7 will shoot the 69 grain and heavier bullets, while the 1:9 will only shoot up to the 69 grain reliably.
