Here is a link from Torque News on the Hellcat

http://www.torquenews.com/106/potent...er-srt-hellcat

I was hopping to see the HP numbers mid 600 for the hellcat did not even think about what could be done when the code is cracked but this car could be one monster just after tuning.

This is great for people with 3 kids. I have 2 so the Camaro works perfectly. If I had none I would have a Vette xD

Some other key things:
600+hp/575+tq (they are still dialing in the final numbers for the Red Key. The Black key is limited to 500hp.)
IHI 2.4L Supercharger; 14,600rpm max; tested at 11.6psi
9.5:1 compression ratio
600cc (57lbs/hr) fuel injectors
92mm throttle body
electronic bypass throttle body
MAF sensor (this is a first on a modern gen hemi; all others use speed density)

2.75" exhaust with electronic valves (double-walled exhaust manifolds and ceramic catalysts capable; withstands temperatures up to 1,922° Fahrenheit
275/40/20 fronts and rears on 20x9.5 rims; Pirelli PZero (3-season) and Nero (4-season) tires
8-speed Auto HP90 Transmission (rated for 663 lbs/ft torque input)
6-speed Manual Tremec 6060 with upgraded ZF-SACHS 258 MM TWIN-DISC CLUTCH (current torque input unknown; parts shared from the SRT Viper transmission)

It is definitely exciting times for "Moparians" as some of us have been waiting around 2+ years since the engine was first rumored. We still don't know pricing, but order banks open July 9, 2014.

A lot of the Chrysler managers and other people in the company (Mark Trostle - white Hellcat and Ralph Gilles - black Hellcat) are already driving around pre-production and production Hellcats.
It had better be 700hp with that weight or the GT500 will wipe the floor with it. The GT500 puts 600hp/tq to the ground and weighs 500lbs less than this porker.

The new suspension for the Challenger is all Maserati I'm thinking that it will be able to hold it's own with the Camaro and Mustang. The mustang was not able to use the power that it had.

"Most people have already become aware of the “LA platform” that will soon debut with the heavily revamped 2015 Dodge Challenger, and then later underpinning the next generation Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. The first iterations of this platform have already debuted with the new Maserati Quattroporte and Maserati Ghibli.

While some suspension material differences between Maserati and Chrysler are possible (aluminum on one, cast iron or stamped steel on the other), we can still take a look at what general changes the new platform will bring with respect to the well known LX/LC/LD. Most notable is the front suspension change, LX uses the Mercedes Benz W220 S-class control arm front suspension design and its been completely removed from the new platform.

It has been replaced with a much lighter and more sporting high-mounted double wishbone quadrilateral set-up that not only provides luxury ride characteristics and light precision steering, but also pure bred handling capabilities. In the Maserati the shock towers, upper and lower control arms and uprights are all made of forged aluminum which are housed in an aluminum sub-frame.

The LX uses a 5-link rear suspension design that was pulled from the W210 Mercedes Benz E-class. While durable and smooth, this suspension was built with comfort as the priority and with that comes excess play and movement, which doesn’t bode well for handling, so its been completely removed as well.

The replacement is a “state of the art” 5-bar muli-link system with four suspension arms which has been developed to offer premium ride characteristics plus extreme sports performance handling. The Maseratis will use electronic adaptive Skyhook dampers at all four corners (SRT currently uses Bilstein, we expect this to continue) as well as anti roll bars and steel springs.

These new suspensions are what will allow SRT to build a Camaro Z/28 fighting Challenger T/A or ACR that is said to be shown next year, as the Challenger will be the first Chrysler Group vehicle to launch with the new architecture. Lets just hope that the race to better CAFE numbers via weight reduction means the Chrysler cars will use just as much forged aluminum components as their Maserati brothers."

I have a 1980 Cutlass and the 2010 Challenger RT the challenger has as much room in the cabin as the Olds does and much the same in the trunk.

I'm sorry, at 4400+ lbs ship weight (4600+ lbs with driver) the Hellcat Challenger will come in third place around a track against a GT500 and a ZL1. Lets not even mention the Z/28 because that will be more of an embarrassment to the beloved Hellcat. But I do believe that it will be more of a 1320/roll race monster. I have watched every video clip and read every article from Chrysler and I never once heard/read them mention anything about the suspension and its track capability. The gave very vague mentioning saying its the best handling of the SRT products, but nothing in detail. Which leads me to believe that the handling is not that impressive as most people may think.

Curb weight of the ZL1 Camaro is 4150lbs Curb weight of the Hellcat is reported to be 4400lbs I don't think that the difference is that great, and with the update to the Challenger suspension I think that the only thing that the Camaro will see is the tail lights in the 1/4 and on the track it will be at least equal to the ZL1 the Z28 will be a better track car but if Dodge puts out a TA they would target the Z

Equal to the ZL1 on a track...in fuel consumption and tread wear perhaps. The 426hp 1LE demonstrates just how good the Camaro chassis is on the twisties. I have a hard time believing Dodge can compete with this in the current Challenger. They had 6 years to improve the Challenger/Charger suspension in the SRT and they are still 8 seconds slower around VIR than the much cheaper, less powerful 1LE. Heck, the 1LE was faster around VIR than the 510hp, 3,400lb, $86,000 Dodge Viper.

I'm sorry but "at least equal to the ZL1 on the track" I don't see that happening if the weight is as much as people are reporting. This thing is going to be a 1/4 mile monster at best. Dodge's answer to everything is more power or larger displacement. I'd like to think that with the Fiat's majority stake in Chrysler group that mentality will change.

The Challenger SRT8 at VIR was 2011 from what I looked up there has been many changes since 2011 with reworking the suspension every year with the major rework in 2015 all the old Mercedes suspension is gone it is a better platform for track we will see as the RT Shaker will soon be on the road and at the track.

It was a 2012. What suspension changes make you think the Challenger can shave 13 seconds off its lap time?

The 2012 MY introduced the three mode adjustable suspension (two mode for the stick shift). Just changing out a Daimler part for a Fiat part will not just automatically drop 13 seconds of a lap time. The Challenger needs a whole new reworked chassis - the current one they are on will not cut it.
