Holy Fa King Cow! 0-60 in 3.9 seconds!

I love my SS, but today I drove a Signature 100 Tesla today (Vin 005 of 100). I'm in LA for work and a guy here just bought a new $100K Red Tesla. I can't believe he let me drive it with him of course around El Segundo. Cell phone pic to be sent to me soon (not my cell)

Anyway, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds with instant torque up to 14000 RPMs. Ridiculously fast!!!

Anyway...had to tell someone. Drove a Tesla...."Check".

It has a 140W charger and this guy has solar panels to charge it. His Kilowatt to gas equivalent is 125 MPG. 245 mile range. It was a totally different experience.

I'm convinced that the Tesla is a glimpse of the sports cars of tomorrow. As soon as they get all the kinks worked out with the battery (may have to wait until carbon nanotubing is affordable), they'll have a monster on their hands.

That is one of the coolest looking little cars I've seen in my life. There is one here in town, and when I saw it, I was floored. If this is a glimpse into the future of the Sports Car, then I can't wait for those times to come

Too bad they only drive 55 miles on a charge if you're driving it hard and you can't race it because of the tires on it. they're built for rolling with less friction so they handle for beans.

Well it's not a track car it's a street legal car and it's not cool to race on public roads with something like that anyway.

Would not be hard to swap out the tires for a track run.

Its the only plug-in that I have any interest in at this point...but way out of my price range. I hope GM will use some battery-assist motors in the near future...in a sports car...a V-6 with battery assist to boost the MPG's?

I saw a yellow Tesla Roadster a few days ago! My father was classmates with one of the executives at Tesla (I don't remember the guys name, but he is in charge of battery technology). I'm trying to get like a week or two week internship at the place.

Don't get me wrong. I love the rumble of a V8...hence why I cut my exhaust off and put on the SLP LM II within an hour of owning my Camaro.

Anyway, to just simply jump from 0 to instant torque is a unique experience. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I really, truly loved the feel. No squawk of tires, no noise, just vault.
