Very true - see above link. I think the reason they stayed with the iron block is better durability over an aluminum block while taking high boost levels.
Wow, if you guys have a tech interest at all you should read these links. They went for a lot of the power that GM left for the aftermarket on the ZL1. The gear ratios for that auto transmission are no joke. The manual is geared a little too tall for optimal drag racing times. If a rear gear swap becomes available, the manual will be amazing also. When it is officially released, it may end up being the fastest car ever built by an American car company. You may be able to drive this Hellcat off the lot, find some open highway and drive 200mph..... The GT500 was supposed to do it but really doesn't. The ZR1 can do it but you need a lot of road.... I guess we will have to see with the Hellcat.

You know the first Hellcat owner that tries to run with me is going to be upset when I blow his doors off.

Not for the Challenger SRT Hellcat. Insiders have known since the preliminary design phase that the Challenger SRT Hellcat would actually increase in weight. When you add a supercharger, extra radiators, cooling etc. it adds weight (and given they did not use any exotic materials or aluminum block) it was obvious that the Hellcat would come in heavier. Now if you go back and read the links I posted from Allpar, it explicitly shows the weight of the SRT Hellcat of 4,439 lbs for the Auto and 4,449 lbs for the manual.

Not sure whether or not you know what your talking about. Owners of the SRTs know what they are getting into before purchasing. We didnt buy them to be #1. I've owned a ZL1 and now I own a SRT8. 2 different types of vehicles for 2 different purpose.

I really can't see anyway that this car could loose weight other than gutting the car, which obviously Dodge didn't want to do. So yes she will be a big heavy girl, but we all know once you get a big heavy girl rolling she is going to knock over everything else on the dance floor.

A guy brought in a 2013 SRT8 392 today. Nice car but the interior seemed less than the GT500 and ZL1
Seemed less? Curious to know what aspects of the interior of the SRT8 was less from the ZL1. I thought it was complete opposite. The ZL1 has no interior, lol. Suede package? If you call that an interior then I need to reevaluate myself.

You better blows doors with your NON STOCK car. Please stop bragging about how fast your NON STOCK car compares to STOCK cars. You make no sense.

Unless I happen to come across a totally stock car that wants to roll race, very few of the cars I run against are totally stock. If people are bringing cars to a racing venue... it usually has some mods to make it perform a little better. 3/4 or more of the cars on this site are not totally stock. I guarantee those hellcats will show up with Drag radials, and pulley upgrades within weeks after they are released. Mine is not stock at all, but I can bet you the hellcat owners won't care a bit, most of the Shelby guy's don't care either, they have some mods and a lot of confidence in the news print that says their car is faster. I feel it is my duty to show them what a finely tuned GM vehicle can do. If they want to try to go to the aftermarket and get their car faster than mine.... more power to them and good luck. No matter what any of the other brand guys say, the aftermarket is much, much stronger for GM.

Ignore him. He's not worth it. He's the type to get embarassed and not admit it. If I get a Hellcat and put the same amount of $ he has into his ZL1 ill run him.
