I meant I couldn't afford both, not that the vehicle isn't enticing.

Agreed. They seem to be a little too loose with those emblems

My personal favorite car to ever wear an SS badge, was the 1994-1996 Impala SS. So I disagree with you.

In the 2000s yes. Until the SS sedan, Camaro had been the only vehicle with SS badges in the Chevrolet lineup for a few years.

If you think 4 doors automatically disqualifies a car from being an SS or sporty in general you're just kidding yourself.

For example this...

...would send the vast majority of Camaros on this site crying home to Oshawa. And technically it's a 5-door.

Absolutely nothing about the GXP is better than what's offered on this car. Maybe you like that old Pontiac beak, but in terms of everything else, the G8 sucks compared to this car. Have you actually sat in either of these cars?

Used to own an 09 in Heron White. And I've checked the SS on the show room floor.

The G8 had much better lines, the SS's are much to rounded and very bland.

Performance wise... Not seeing a lot of difference. Both have LS3's, both have the same manual tranny, willing to bet same pumpkin too.

MRC is a nice addition, but not enough to overcome the downgrade in looks for me.

If I remember right there has been 15-20 different vehicles that have worn an SS badge of some kind since the 1960's. SS is more and more like an option package than anything else.

As far as I'm concerned, this IS the replacement for the old Impala SS. and make a wonderful vehicle perhaps for a family with a couple of children.
Enough room for a family, the performance of a Camaro SS and the mag ride of the ZL1, should make a nice family car.

I read elsewhere you'll have to pay extra for the manual... which is totally opposite than other GM cars.
