I still want the smaller size... My current Colorado is my daily driver and it fits nicely in parking garages and small spaces.

Can't wait to trade it in on one of these.

I don't really want or need a full size. I just want a mid size, great turning radius, easy driving, somewhat fancy, truck with plenty of techy tid bits that make it feel new. On top of all that, decent fuel mileage. If by some sort of wizardry the city mileage is 20 or better on the v6, then I won't even think twice about getting one. If not then I'll crunch some numbers depending on the cost of diesel and have to choose whether to stick with 18mpg gas or go the (who the **** knows mpg)diesel route. Considering I won't be buying for a couple years, I get to see all the final numbers before I make a move.

$5k cheaper isn't enough when they are offering $8k in incentives less than a year after the full size debuted

You can only get 8k off if its a crew cab model and I for one hate the look of crew cabs trucks nor do I need one. Its also what is in their inventory and if I am not mistaken most crew cabs are 40k plus at most dealers cause they all have the same packages and options unless someone special orders one. Also not everyone one wants or needs a full size so its kinda pointless to say well you can get a full size for a few more grand. Id rather have a fully or almost fully optioned mid size for about 30ish than a full size that is missing things I want.

I'm just suggesting that 8k off within a model year is ominous for a vehicle that just switched body styles and won't bode well with this potential pricing strategy unless these midsizers are truly exceptional and people jump on the bandwagon

That's you though, not me. I really don't want a fully loaded vehicle. Now let's say a canyon the way I want it comes in at just say 30k. But with current incentives a similarly equipped Sierra comes in at like 31-33, sorry bu I would spring for the full size then. Even thou I admitlley do not need the capabilities of a full size something would push me to get the full size....unless the canyon has insanely good gas mileag

I'm the same way as this is just my daily driver back and forth to work with the added utility of having a truck. My current 2011 was a basic work truck with no options at all except a tool box. It's been the most used and practical vehicle I've ever had. I will make sure to get power windows and locks on the next one. That part was a mistake...

I'm with ya...I don't want a fullsize...even if they are heavily discounted. The Colorado is perfect for me. I currently drive a 2006 4 door 4x4 and I plan to get the same thing in the new generation. Sometimes just a bit more bed space would be nice, but its not a big issue for me. I almost wish instead of the new short bed and long bed versions, they just offered one in between the two! I like the looks of the short bed, so that's what I plan to be getting when the time comes....could be awhile.

Lots of talk above about why would you get a Colorado/Canyon when you can get a Silverado/Sierra for 8 grand off MSRP? That is a good question, but don't you think GM will also be offering year end savings on the mid size trucks too? Yes I realize it won't be 8 grand in savings, but I'm guessing a good 2 - 4 grand off their MSRP as well. Anyone disagree with me on this? You have to compare apples to apples.

I think it would be pretty ridiculous of GM to offer their 40+ thousand dollar Silverado's for low 30s at year end pricing, but offer ZERO discount on say a 30 thousand dollar Canyon. If they don't want to sell any, then I guess this is how they should do it.

...and where's the single cab version like I have now? I could care less about a back seat or extended cab. Give me more bed space instead.
