Thats awesome, I thought about trying to go solid axle but honestly she doesn't see enough off road to really need all that. Just out running around the lake and maybe a little muddin. And the winters of course. Probably 90percent on the road so all show and no go is fine for this one lol

You and me both!! Saw another guy with one similar that he designed out of cardboard and made it.* Man I wish I was a welder!!

And I look forward to doing this build, pretty much have it all tore down. Still waiting on the kit to get here. I need to order some gears for the diffs. I think im going to go 4.10's with a 32/11.50/15.. not sure yet. I have 3.42 gears now with 28.9 diameter tires.

I want to spray the frame and all the wheel wells black. Not sure what would be best, flat black rustoleum.. or like an undercoating in a can..

FYI - That bumper was sold by a company called "Animal4x4" that is no longer in business.

I've looked everywhere for the plans, but whoever has them isn't letting them out into the world. The last I heard, "Mr. Z" (the forum founder of zr2usa.com) has the plans, but I haven't seen anywhere that you can purchase it, whether it's bolt-on or a weld-able kit.

Finally got my lift in.. took a little longer than they said but better late than never. Now i have some work to do!

Scored some cool parts today from a local salvage yard. I got a ZR2 rear end with 50K on it. It's an 8.5" ring gear (mines 7.5) and has the factory limited slip/locker, and has a 4" wider track than my stock diff matches the front better. Popped the cover looked to have never been off, and looks perfectly clean and hardly any wear.

Also got a ZR2 cast iron front diff (mines alum) with...wait for it....... 0 miles! This salvage yard has a contract with Gm and get a lot of test vehicles and all kind of stuff that has to be ddestroyed or parted out. They'v parted out pperfect zo6's and all kinds of Gm vehicles. Anyways this was exactly what I was looking for and never would have believed I would end up with a new one.. pretty amazing as it has to be like 12 year old! I'll take some better pics later. Both diffs are 3.73 (mines 3.42)

my daily driver is a 97 blazer that just turned 165k. my a/c just stopped working and now is going to need spider injectors,but i like it and have have no plans to get rid of it.
