You didn't get tickets? Good on you. Don't continue to press your luck.

I got a noise violation on Saturday. Can't say anything bad about the cop - he was just doing his job. Gotta pay to play.

...which the car in question is demonstrably not. But a '69 and earlier car has no cats to remove in the first place.

Yup this...put cat's on and then a good cat-back system with mufflers. Get it legal then he can go f himself if he doesn't like how loud it is. My standard answer after that would be well...the exhaust is legal so it looks like you have a personal problem lol. But...in doing that you will inevitably be this guys mission for life hahaha. You're picture will be on a most wanted poster in the police dept. This thread cracks me up....

Everyone is right though seriously....you don't have a leg to stand on if the car isn't legal and he can and will make you sorry. I've gotten into plenty of arguments with cops when I was younger but as I've gotten older I just want to stay off their radar. You don't want to get to the point where you get pulled over every time you go somewhere in your area. This guy sounds like a major asshat though...I can't stand cops with authority issues talking down to me. I almost can't help myself and my mouth starts to open before I can control it. Good luck lol.

those of you saying cut outs and a xpipe etc...isn't possible with my turbo system unless the cutouts are at the rear of the car. and yes i understand removing cats is against the law - i also understand that anyone running headers or HF cats are also breaking the law - there are PLENTY of cars on here doing this as well. someone mentioned my car was unsafe for the road because of the cats - what a laugh!!!

what pisses me off is i see a guy TODAY smoking crack next to me and then immediately and purposely drive through 2 red lights as i sat there and watched...THAT is the type of stuff a officer should be concerned about. i know they cant be everywhere, but maybe there would have been one there if he wasn't somewhere pulling a guy over for his tint or some other crap. i see stuff like that quite often too, and they drive off without an issue. meanwhile i am getting pulled over 2x for what a guy thinks is too loud. i just passed 2 parked PD and 1 motorcycle PD within half a mile of my place. they didn't even turn their heads. oh and the 2 parked cars are in my parking lot about 50 feet away sitting there...i must be such a danger and annoyance since they didn't even so much as walk over or look when i parked literally right in front of them.

Look, I know it sucks. But the bottom line is: the car's not legal. Stating that other people break the law too is not an effective standpoint for convincing me that it's OK for you to break laws you find convenient to break.

The equipment you need isn't possible with your car...well, honestly? That's tough shit. There's no "oh shucks that stinks" exemption. It doesn't matter at all, it's still a repsonsibility of yours to either comply, or face the consequences.

And BTW, there's aftermarket cats that are approved for cars. The headers...not following you there at all. Do you mean in CA, or in the USA?

...and if you saw a guy smoking crack while driving, and didn't call the cops...that pisses me off.

i saw a guy once driving drunk, allllll over the road. i called 911 and followed them for about 30min as i watched him drive up on the curb etc. blow out his tire and was driving on the rim. i gave the dispatcher EXACTLY where i was the whole time. 30 damn minutes and did a cop show up!?? NO. it got the the point where they were on a residential street and starting to slow - because i am obviously following them. i told the dispatcher at that point i wasn't comfortable, and i turned around. and not a damn cop in sight

called 911 on a car driving VERY high speed on the freeway and weaving, no cop then either...forgive me for not putting much faith in their service at times. yet i get pulled for "loud". i am a good guy, i try to do the right thing. always been that way, and that's why i will end up trying to quiet my car down as well - all because of 1 guy! its also why i feel his time could be better spent looking for people doing much worse things than driving at the speed limit or through a parking lot. easier to prey on me though than an actual criminal i guess.

If you have no faith in the police, next time you are in trouble call a hippie.

OP get over yourself, you're breaking the law. Doesn't matter what you say, it's just plain and simple YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW so stop complaining about being harassed until you fully make your car legal.

I hate people like this and there thinking.

I have tinted windows and it's illegal in the state I live to have your windows tinted. I understand that every time I go by a cop I could be pulled over and get a ticket and if I get one then so be it, but I would complain about the cop that gave it to me because he's just doing his job.

he Thought I Should Have Called The Police, I WasSimply Stating I've Done That Before With No Results. Actually The Time I Called About The Speeder I Couldn't Even Get Through To 911, I Got A Message Saying They Were Too Busy To Take My Call. I Didn't Even Think That Was Possible Lol.

What sucks about cops is yes some are d**ks some are cool n some do there jos. There are some places were there really tough and strict. As long as your car can pass inspection n all your paper work is ligit then you should be good n he's probaly jus trying to get to you to see what you'll say or do.
