New from NC

Hey guys, names James and I live in Eastern NC. I just picked up a 2012 2SS/RS White last night and this thing is clean! This is replacing a 2004.5 GLI but I still own a built 03 Ford Lighting.
Back to the car, it has some work done, Ive noticed a breather on the PCV line coming off the front passenger side of the engine, which I know is bad for allowing un-metered air. The mufflers are cut off, which doesn't sound bad at all surprisingly and third, I noticed the temp needle doesnt reach the middle of the gauge so Im assuming a lower temp stat.
One more thing, the car looks lower than other SS' in pictures, whats a good way to tell? Does any have wheel gaps for stock ride heights?

James

Welcome. What kind of warranty did it come with. You also might have an after market tune also.

James, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I wish I could have started out with a better experience with my first GM car but on the second day of owning this car, #8 intake valve spring broke, melted the intake and runner and was in the shop for the first week of owning the car. I really like the looks and how the car handles but now it seems like I may have a trans issue with grinding 2nd gear engagement with spirited driving.

Assuming you have a manual, that is a known issue with these cars. Some say either separating the clutch master cylinder reservoir or replacing the clutch master cylinder have helped with the grinding. If you search for it on the forum, you will find some long threads of others with the same issue.

Welcome James. ECU grad here, so spent a lot of time in eastern NC.

Post some pics and we can chime in regarding ride height. Great choice on year model!

Heres a couple pics when I picked it up. When I was underneath it, I discovered that spring were Eibachs which is fine with me, I wasnted to lower it. Now Im trying to figure out what wheels I should get. Those TSW Nurburgring look pretty sharp along with the weight savings. I also have a splitter on the way, thinking about plasti dipping it matte black.
