They actually used to rub the gums of teething babies with whiskey. My dad would bring me a shot of straight whiskey with a coke chaser when I had horrible cramps as a young teen. It was accompanied by a speech that it was okay since it was for "medicinal purposes". Truth is he could not stand to let me keep hurting and is was the only thing that worked. I would sleep like a baby.

There are storms & rain here & on & off the next couple of days. Yeah, I suspect it is pollen at the root of my troubles. At this point I am feeling it move a little down into my chest & I'm losing my voice with still a sore, scratchy throat, runny nose & slight head ache. Turning in early tonight. We actually had rain showers blow through here this evening. A tonight's temps are going down into the high 40's tonight. COLD!

To dig further will cost us several thousand dollars extra. We are negotiating now.

Good morning. Storms overnight produced hail in some areas last night & more rain for today with storms tonight some possibly severe. I need to get my butt home today but that should not be a problem as I have a silly training today. The last couple in this series have gotten over early & if it does not, I'm just leaving. Not worth risking life & limb. HAGD all

Good evening crew. Well I tackled and learned how to deal with word documents, PDF files & managed to send out a very complicated club email after importing documents from the old computer, making changes to them, saving them to this computer & attaching them to the club email. I know that sounds like a very simple set of tasks but it was complicated especially the PDF document. I am gradually learning this darn new computer. Now I am tired! It is supposed to storm at like 3:00 AM & will probably wake us up so I need to make myself turn in early. Sweet dreams all.

Good morning. The storms have passed through here without too much drama but it is still raining. It is supposed to be clearing for a fairly nice day. Today is My day to stay close to home so hopefully the rain will have passed by the time I have to hit the road. Maybe I can get out & take a walk today. I need to get me a hair cut too so maybe a little time for that too. It is amazing what you can accomplish when you get back 2-3 hours of time you usually spend commuting. Have a good day crew.

Well got some suprising news today! I have Bladder cancer :( So far the tumor looks small seen it on the scope today. I have surgary next Thursday. So if ya Pray say a few prayers for me I'm confident all will be fine. I needed to share that LOL

Sorry to hear the bad news Skip and good to see you have a positive attitude about the outcome. Will say a prayer for your quick recovery. Today was an interesting weather day in Cleveland. We got to the ball park around 1:30 and it was cloudy in the upper 50's. The game was scheduled for 3 but was delayed because more rain was coming soon. It was partly sunny and low 60's then.

The front came through about 4:30 and the game started around 5:15 and by then it was 46 and fairly windy. I was not dressed warmly enough as I expected 50's all game long from the morning weather forecast. We braved it out till the 8th inning when the Indians took the lead then headed back to the hotel to warm up. They ended up with winning 7-2 so I don't feel bad about bailing early. It's supposed to be colder tomorrow but I expected that and have warmer clothes and a blanket for that game.

Dang Skip! I hate hearing that. Good that it seems to be small. Hopefully it is caught early enough that it will be taken care of easily by the surgery. Glad this week is done. I feel something bad is boiling up at work because many are on edge. Haven't gotten a call from management, so I am probably safe. I have a feeling something will be going down. I don't think it involves layoffs and firings, I think it involves rude awakenings and "come to jesus" meetings for the slackers.
