I tend to think this is a pretty aggressive front end and is definitely not focus-esque
Is there a point in which you can get too aggressive which imo they did just that. I still have the opinion the 13-14 mustang is the best modern day version ford has done to the mustang.

No such thing as too aggressive looking if done right.

I think the 2015 is less aggressive and more refined than the out going model. I love it more and more. The more I see it. The interior is the nicest I've seen in a car in a long time.

I have to agree with khell86. it seems a lot of people don't see how close the the two front ends are. I know people will have preference, they always do, but the 15 IMO isn't a huge departure from the 14

You gotta love "design language." Making flagship cars look like the entry level cars since 1984.

Not much we can do about it. I guess it works for some; BMW, Cadillac, Aston, to name a few. Maybe the idea is to make the whole brand recognizable at a glance, of course this can cause its own problems. I guess Ford and Lincoln believe its a good one. To an extent i can see where they're coming from, but on the other hand i dont always agree.

It looks more like the outgoing mustang than the fusion. I don't get people that compare it to the fusion. They must need glasses. The lines are completely different.

It's the front and the hood of the car that people see the similarities.

Not much we can do, but the companies you named make premium cars. Making a $40K Mustang look like a $12K Fiesta is a bad idea IMO. Of course, the Fox body Mustangs were almost indistinguishable, to an untrained eye, from the Escorts and Tauruses. (Tauruses? Taurii? Whatever).

Maybe the worst example of design language was the late 90s/early 00s Dodge (with the exception of the trucks). ALL of their cars and minivans looked exactly the same from the front.

As the quote directly above states...its the front of the car we are talking about. Of course we aren't comparing the profile of a sedan to a coupe....of course those lines don't match up.

"They must need glasses"....seriously? Now...I've posted this up in another thread so I'll do it again here. I'm not saying I think the new Mustang is horrible looking. I'm not saying it didn't get any design ques (even the front) from the previous Mustang, because I see those similarities too, but the Fusion redesign came just before the Mustang redesign, so its only natural to compare to it when they look so close. This is the new Ford design language.

With that in mind, here....I'll help you get the comparisons. All I'm saying is I think it is a mistake to make it look like a coupe version of your family sedan. Not everyone will agree.

So wouldn't it be fair to say the Fusion took styling cues from the current Mustang?
