Hi all.

I've been busy as hell as well as hurting my shoulder in the oddest way. Woke up sleeping on my arm and couldn't move it for about 5 min, now my shoulder has been painful as hell all week. WTF.

Anyhow, as midevorcegift mentioned, grip strength will increase by holding, squeezing heavy weight with the fingers. FatGrips force you to use your fingers and in turn build grip strength. Some think grip strength comes from strong forearms, although they do have some effect on it, it is minimal.

If you want to track increases in grip strength grab a bathroom scale, not digital, squeeze the hell out of it and watch the reading, as strength increases so will the reading in poundage.

Since I did back today I work on my grip following the experts advice! Push more weight on my deadlifts and dumbbells curls holding for couples seconds more... not easy but I have to get better on this! Besides that excellent workout! @CFD you was right those fat reading palm machine doesn't work that well... check my fat and after telling me that I was down to 19.8% now said that I'm on 21% but I look myself in the mirror and I don't see it...

when I hold the 'palm' device to get my fat percentage, I'm about 32% fat, based on the device. That should tell you how acturate they really are. "Hello, my name is hrpiii, and I'm obese".

Well Insanity is over with. Pretty happy with the results, just wish I would of eaten less then maybe the results would have been a lot better but still can't complain! After 2 months I am down 8lbs, lost 6.5% body fat, lost 1in in my chest and 3.5in in my waist. I don't plan on stopping, been thinking about mixing it up with weight lifting and some Insanity videos but overall very happy with my results. Extremely happy that I was able to complete the entire program in the past never got past Day 3 haha.

I've mentioned this before when discussions on measuring body fat percentages has come up. It's a device called Accumeasure. It uses a single point skinfold measurement. This makes it very easy to use and it is surprisingly consistent and accurate. It is very inexpensive and readily available. Most can't utilize hydrostatic measurements and the 3 point skinfold measurement cannot be done without the assistance of someone with experience as the smallest variation in technique and location makes it difficult. The bio resistance type of measuring devices are useless. They can be greatly affected by hydration and don't distinguish between lean mass and fat very well, that's why guy's like hrpii will show high body fat levels when clearly they do not have them. I've used the Accumeasure for years and have compared it to 3-point skinfold testing and it is very good. Here is the instruction sheet and chart for you to check out. The list price is twenty bucks but you can buy them for under ten bucks on places like Amazon etc.and I promise it will be well worth it if you want to track your progress.

Very noticeable results and congrads to you.

If you incorporate weight training into your regime you will see a big transformation.

Here's my video as promised got mad at myself today forgot I had to do 9 reps for a pr... Definitely had one more in me anyways here's me today at 147lbs Dead lifting 355 for 8 reps

https://youtu.be/LedG00D_-sY

using a 1RM calculator that is 441lbs that is between advanced and elite for my weight class, trying to get to 480 1RM to be "elite"
Deadlift: In order for these standards to apply, knees, hips, and upper back must completely extend.

Here are the definitions
Untrained
Expected level of strength in a healthy individual who has not trained on the exercise before but can performit correctly. This represents the minimum level of strength required to maintain a reasonable quality of life in a sedentary individual.

Novice
A person training regularly for a period of 3-9 months. This strength level supports the demands of vigorous recreational activities.

Intermediate
A person who has engaged in regular training for up to two years. The intermediate level indicates some degree of specialization in the exercises and a high level of performance at the recreational level.

Advanced
An individual with multi-year training experience with definite goals in the higher levels of competitive athletics.

Elite
Refers specifically to athletes competing in strength sports. Less than 1% of the weight training population will attain this level.
