not to be insensitive because that has happened is truly sad and unfortunate, but i can't help but think of the show Lost when thinking if the passengers on the plane are still alive.

it's possible it could have landed, re-fueled and flew elsewhere using "terrain masking" (flight below 5k ft) this is a google earth image of Oman, Saudi Arabia. and even if it did land, I'm sure out in the middle of nowhere phones would/could actually get signal...

Andaman/Nicobar Islands - look at that large Hangar it could have parked in

this is the number of airports in India (population 1 Billion) I'm sure there's tons of flights in and out all the time

there is SOO many possibilities at this point and because we can't confirm it was terrorist related, the last responsible would be the flight crew...
whats interesting is countries like Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, even out west Africa (Somalia) - why aren't they helping with the search?!?

Just an update:

- Some data had been deleted from the flight simulator found at the home of the pilot. Forensic work is under way to try to recover it.

They state that it's "probably likely" that it went into the Southern Indian ocean where there are "no flight paths, islands, etc". Although I haven't seen any evidence pointing to that conclusion. So I'm still saying that it landed somewhere. The pilot wouldn't input GPS waypoints just to drive it out into the ocean.

Unless the "news" is driving all this misinformation and speculation.....the whole thing is very strange. There seems to be an odd cloak of politics going on here.

The Air France plane crashed into the Atlantic and it took a long time to find a trace and nobody talked any of this stuff then.

^that it did. if it did go down in the south indian ocean... the spread of debris could be over thousands of miles... and thus possibly never actually finding the plane submerged.

the Air France plane sent back data that the plane was having mechanical problems. Although it took them two years to find most of the plane, they found debris within 5 days, and they knew approximately where it was.
