Ok: Personally, The sharpness of the fenders and tail just don't..look right. I'd have to see it in person (again) for sure but... I'm just not feelin' it. Equinox, sure. In fact if my parents weren't diehard on a Camaro after their Edge lease is up, I'm sure they'd jump into one in a heartbeat.

Maybe even an SRX because they're almost nearing retirement (or wish they were in today's day and age..)

This is a beautiful vehicle that does not look like a Vue rebadge AT ALL! In person it is just beautiful....especially the interior! Trust me there will be no confusion with the Vue in regards to interior! I am not a SUV/CUV person and this one has me thinking...

Also, perceptions are changing and people did trade in imports for the Malibu, CTS, Enclaves...Little by little--That's how the bad perceptions were formed over time and no matter how great new products are it will take time to slowly win people back.

As a side note driving the Camaro at least 50% of the people that ask about it, run us off the road trying to get pics, etc. are driving imports....A lot of those people are in BMWs, Mercedes, etc. At Christmas at the condo we had a group of people gathered around the Camaro in our parking space looking it over and a Maybach drove by and parked and no one even gave it a second look! Granted at the time the Camaro was a rarity, but a Maybach...How many of those do you see on the road? So maybe a few more people jumping ship and choosing a Camaro...Little by little is how it will happen-one customer at a time.

Secondly: I honestly wouldn't have been the wiser since it's hard pressed to even hear people speak of GM highly especially after Q1 and Q2 of this year and the charliefox in the court systems. Makes one wonder if people are almost embarrassed to tout GM..

For now I'm going to unfortunately sit on the sidelines and watch them and Ford improve quality in their vehicles. I'm still stuck with that silver thing that gets me from point A to point B. Seeing everyone drive around these new vehicles actually kinda hurts..

SRX looks like a solid effort to be sure, but it raises as many questions as it answers.

First, this is an unquestionable shot across the bow of the Lexus RX, buts that begs the question when did Caddy stop focusing on BMW and Mercedes and start taking a longer, harder look at Lexus? A cohesive branding theme matters a lot in this segment, and with Caddy right now I am not seeing anything of the sort. Caddys near future looks to be a hodge podge mish mash of fwd and rwd that leaves me wondering what segment of the market the brand is actually going after, assuming they know themselves.

Again, this combo smacks a bit of the strategy Lexus has now long used selling fwd based ES and RX models to entry level buyers boosting sales and profits and allowing folks to buy into the brand without dropping the coin a GS or LS requires. That said, if this is the beginning of a similar strategy then a few things are missing. First of all, where is the equivelant, entry level car offering? The Lexus plan works because the RX and ES bookend each other giving their plan the desperately needed appearance of actually having been planned and not merely created out of necessity. Further, Lexus doesn't allow fwd to creep any higher within the brand heirarchy than the entry level strata for obvious reasons. Right now, it appears very likely that STS and DTS will both be replaced by a fwd model leaving CTS as the lone rwd car in an otherwise fwd lineup. Even more, it appears very likely that Escalade will also be replaced by a Lambda based vehicle, which will well and truly turn Cadillac into a fwd brand which just happens to build one rwd car.

CTS created the best starting point for a brand revival GM has yet had, and while this appears to be a nice enough vehicle the truth is that the RDX doesn't really fit into that structure, not as a stand alone product, and I fear that the RDX indicates a major shift away from the rwd revival so lauded toward a sort of American take on Acura.

lol...I have been around! More reading than posting Also, I can't take credit for anything... I don't work for GM I am (was) a teacher until I followed my husband (move after move) who does actually work for GM I am just a car person like all of you who takes interest and advantage in what my husband does...plus I am not allowed to work in Canada and have a little too much free time to get in trouble

I saw the new SRX at the Philly Auto Show this past January and I think it is hot . I'm not into the Escalade because too many of them have been gangster-ized, but the SRX is a very nice package. I might very well take one for a drive when they hit showrooms and go from there....
