Another good one from GM

Been reading about the new Cadillac SRX. Man GM is knocking them out of the park...especially in the Caddy division.

Fail.

Vue is on Theta I. SRX is on Theta-Epsilon.

But does the general public know that? To them it just looks like a Vue with a caddy front end. One more thing for them to hate GM for.

Not when they see all the features they get in a 40K package. Should stack up well against the competition.

...that they can get in a Lexus or Mercedes and have a 'Name Worthy of Luxury' on it. I still can't see this CUV taking off for GM, if it did I'd be surprised. People still think GM is in bankruptcy..

With this thing looking like a parts-bin whip-up vehicle I don't think Joe blow would think very highly of GM no more than they do now.

I honestly don't know where people are getting this from...I see some similarity in the roofline but nothing more.

And of course, let's completely ignore the highly advanced and stylish interior...

And the 'side vents'

And the doors.

And the side mirrors.

And they probably will overlook the interior. The old "cheap GM interior" stigma that, thanks to some, has been propagated in the halo Camaro now will probably follow GM for some time. People are going to be finicky about everything, especially a $40K CUV that at first glance looks like a rebadged saturn.

Boy you are just full of positivity for GM. If I hadn't met you in person I'd swear you were a writer for the NY Times.

Plus most folks here appreciate the details of appearance and would quickly see the difference in the exterior and interior.

Go to the link in my sig and check out the SRX pics I took for Fen.

I've driven em both had em both in my driveway and they aren't even close. Me thinks you believe what you read...............in the NY Times.

Hey, the Infiniti FX has the same vents, oh wow, must be a Vue rebadge.

Side mirrors look nothing like the Vue's. Vue's are mounted on the door panel, SRX's are mounted on the A-pillar.

The "cheap GM interior" reputation has already been shattered by the Malibu. I know longtime import drivers who have spent less than five minutes in the interior of a Malibu or CTS and were blown away by the quality.

Even the Camaro's interior is not bad at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if some Joe Q. Public thought that.. and I'm not being snide. Just stating a general opinion about today's idiot general population

And Joe Q Public will see that..

And did they trade in their imports for the Malibu and/or CTS?

Indeed they did. Had one lady go from her highlander into a Malibu and hasn't looked back since...now looking into an Equinox.

And my friend's family who are still wary of GM after the transmission on their Suburban blew out on them twice are now very interested in an Equinox.

Perceptions are changing. Little by little, they're changing. Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are no longer the game changers in this industry, GM and Ford are.

Zabo, the average person has no clue about the Vue and would't recognize the similarities unless they had them side by side. Honestly, I can't picture the Vue in my head and I follow this stuff more than most. So your argument about GM parts bin among the uninformed is pointless as they don't know what is in the parts bin in the first place.
