My friends decision.

My friend is about to buy a 2012 Ford Mustang. It was very hard for me to support this decision. Can someone confirm if this is what being an adult is like? If so, I'm not sure I can deal with it all the time.

What's wrong with the stang? I'm a true red blood bowtie guy too and I wouldn't get one just because of that but I think ford did a great job on this one. Id still prefer a camaro any day though. Just my 2 cants.

It's his money. He can spend it on whatever he thinks is best.

Dealing with good friends is like dealing with your spouse... You have to respect their decisions, even if you don't agree with them. Chances are, you're not going to change their mind anyway. If you did, and they were unhappy down the line, it'd be your fault! Sometimes it's best to clench your jaw and not say a word! - It took me 30 years of marriage to figure that one out! Just my .02.

Yeah, for instance if this week he wants buy a Mustang then that's his business. And if next week he wants to buy a big steaming pile of crap and put it in his driveway next to the Mustang, again, his business. We won't be able to distinguish the two, but it's cool.

Seriously though, if your buddy gets a stang, you can just have a friendly rivalry going. It doesn't have to get ugly or anything.

You have to respect your friend's decisions. It is his money after all. I've driven a 2012 Mustang GT for a few weeks and enjoyed it a lot. Both cars are great looking and I would love to own both. Still, I like my Camaro better. The suspension is much better set up and there are other subtle differences that make it stand out. If you want his to change his mind, you should let him drive your Camaro for a while, before or after that have him a test drive the Mustang. Try to find a corner with bumps. He will defiantly notice the difference in the rear end setup. Also the Ford Sync system sucks... I think Chevy's is much easier and quicker to learn. Just a few ideas...

You have a buddy that loves cars too, embrace that. I've never had a car buddy.

My life is easy. I drive a Camaro, and tried to talk my buddy into one. I even got him into the dealership, and he test drove one.

Then, he went and bought a Prius. I swear, I am not making this up. True story.

So, there is no rivalry. There's no question about which car looks better, handles better, turns more heads. Sure, he pumps less gas than I do... but at what cost?

I have an endless source of mockery and degradation, which is what good friendships are built upon. I never tire of introductions that go something like, "This is my friend Jon... he drives that white Prius over there, but, seriously, I'm almost certain that he is straight..."

No, this is not what being an adult is like. Being an adult means sometimes there are difficult things you have to deal with. This is a bug fart.

Good idea. That way at least he can compare the two.

Also if doesn't really bother me too bad. He isn't really "into to cars" which is what confuses me about the purchase.
