Bumblebee's rival, Barricade, was a Saleen.

Here is an article and quote about the Bullitt. For example....

"Under the hood, the Bullitt features the first use of an open-element air filter in a factory-produced, fuel-injected Mustang"

http://www.themustangnews.com/carnew...bullitt120.htm

Or anyone can read the official news releases if you are interested in more.

I thought it was technically a Saleen...

I specifically recall reading "Saleen Mustang cop car", when reading about the transformers automobiles being used...

Come to think of it, I think Ford in the US just needs to do what it does in both Europe and Australia. Ford of Europe is a very successful in terms of overall sales, and Ford in Australia actually makes cars with some real power. I mean seriously, with the exception of trucks, Ford only has three production 300+ bhp cars and they are all Mustangs (GT, Bullitt, GT500).

I know you guys are mostly Chevy fans, but Ford would be a lot more competitve if it was a little more like its overseas operations.

That isn't just Ford....GM should use their overseas operations more as well....

Look at recent products....

-The Holdens converted to Pontiacs did well enough, and the G8 is going to do far better.....

-Apparently, all of the made-for-China-in-China Buicks are awesome (excellent quality, good designs, etc).

-The Solstice/Sky twins, created from the European Opel, are hot right now.

-The Saturn Aura, again, based on an Opel, is a nice car that is selling well too.

-Even the Malibu and the new Caddys have a lot of European "flavor".

Personally, I think Buick should keep the Enclave, scrap the rest of the Amercian line and bring in the Chinese versions.

Chevy should import the full-size Holden (I don't rememeber the name) and steal all of the fleet sales for police cars and taxi cabs from Ford. (Side note, when GM canceled the Caprice, there were an awful lot of police departments that started repairing/restoring their Caprices because the officers liked them far better than the Crown Vics).

I think GM should go ahead and bring in a couple of the cars they are selling as Daewoo's around the world and put them up against the POS Scions that Toyota crams down people's throats.

These are just a couple examples. But really, the only "totally American" vehicles out there are the full-size trucks. Based on what we see from other markets and how successful the few are that they bring here, that might not be all bad.
