Angry Fix Or Repair Daily: The Final Verdict is in..

Well, if you all remember my little accident back in January with the Exploder you'll remember that my whole front end was thrown out of whack. Supposedly Don Seelye put the front end back together good as 'new.'

Aparently 'New' is Fordese for 'suck'

I went though brand new tires on the front end because of their repair and now I'm off to go and have them look at the frame and such to make sure that hasn't twisted and in turn gummed up my steering arms. I swear if it's another frame issue I'm requisitioning this from their inventory..

A '99 A4 Z/28

I might. I just drove it and other than some mad wind noise from the rear (prolly some weatherstripping issues on the door), tight steering, and some need of power window motors (GEE YA THINK!?) she's REALLY clean for a Michigan Camaro. No real rust other than scratches in the door sills. Few paint chips..

LOCKING T-Tops which I had them leak check and no leaks.. Could use new leather (it is 109K..)

Depends on what the 'rents want to do about the Exploder. New Ball Joints and tires are in the future for this truck and we don't have the cash (looking at over 1K prolly..). If I can get an even trade (which my sales guy said was a good possibility) I'd be in and out with a new to me '99 A4 Pewter Z/28.

But that's if the Rents want to release the title and swap insurance. This is good news since I'm nursing a sore stomach from vomiting blood last night. >_< Long story involving bad Little Ceasers pizza..

Actually this Camaro is just that. Aside from the tight steering and sluggishness off the line she's a cruiser and bruiser. Stock to the bone. Nothing mechanical unlike my truck.

Just talked to pops and if he can't budget new tires and BJs for the Explorer we might be picking up the Z. I gotta call Encompass and have them to an estimate on the rates and if it's a genuine wash..

East bound and down, baby.

Might. I called my insurance company.. get this.

Nope. Even steven according to the dealer. But I'm not sure how to do about lower cash OTD when they're almost worth the same. We're talking about a 2001 Exploder being traded for a sub 150K '99 Z/28 that is more solid than my truck. :/ Heck my A/C in the truck kinda doesn't work anymore.. :P I think I'm duping the dealer more than they are me. Remember she'll also need Ball joints and 4 new tires.

She's got a solid feel, more than my truck which has me thinking that if I could handle my truck with all it's ZOMG body roll in the winter in 2 wheel, then the Camaro being driven like a granny should be a little more difficult but not much. I mean we've got people in v6s and a few SS/Z28s going around in January in the middle of lake effect. I just have to get it on a lift and rust proof it if I do pick it up.

Forgot to mention that. And the guy I drove it with has a couple himself (Plastered his cubicle with 'em)... So I will hold his word a bit higher than the others there.

Edit: Just blue booked both cars. Camaro: $7500 Exploder: $6800

Hmm, handy 700.00 gain

Do the swap. It looks like a win from here! Your exploder sounds like just as big of a POS as my '97 Ranger was! Damned thing couldn't get out of its own way, and would chop power randomly since it was new. I dumped it and got a Silverado. Night and day! The Silverado has 197K on it and works like a dream!

Anyone want to help me convince my parents that a Camaro is just as logical and reliable (if not more) than a Ford Explorer? They're the only hurdle because the Title is in my parents name and my dad is partial to Trucks for northern climates.. And what was once my truck is now "oh it's my truck because my name is on the title"..

Uh, you just said I could do what I pleased with the truck because you didn't want to deal with it.

Seriously, they're pushing keeping the truck even though it'd cost us 1K to fix it which is money we don't have.. god, you'd think they were schooled in the college of obamanomics.

No cash whatsoever (in theory) plus chopping 30 bucks a month off of insurance payments.
