They kept pulling that carp with me and then I dropped them. I went with one of our local insurance places that shops around for you and find the lowest rates. I went from about 6000 a year to 3500 a year. ( house, 3 cars, married, 24 years old, no tickets or accidents) It pays to shop around lol.

I would hang myself if I had to pay that much for insurance.

^ yeah it's quite a bit but that's including my homeowners insurance on the house which is a little over 500 a year tho so it's more like 3000 for just our 3 cars for full coverage. I was pretty pissed that State Farm was getting me for that much when I found out lol

State Farm did a across the board rate hike in November last year. All customers..

aside from that I haven't heard of another hike in CA, however occasionally I get these "your rates may increase due to a reevaluation of the cost to insure the vehicles you drive.. "

this is basically them saying someone in the industry said my vehicle has a greater chance of being stolen or wrecked due to new "data".

I have always called B.S. on it and raised hell with my agent, the hike is usually removed.

I suggest that you find an agent, interview a few, find one you like and then have them re-evaluate your coverage, don't use the 800# those people are useless they are just call center employees with no direct insurance training, designed to simply field calls.

Who has State Farm Insurance?

I am well past the age of that being an issue for high premiums. I had State Farm for over 30 years. I have 3 newer cars, and 3 older than 10 years, plus a 4 year old Harley. I switched to Gieco a year ago and nearly cut my premiums in half for the same coverage. We switched because my wife was working at State Farm HQ in Bloomington as a process improvement consultant. After 6 months she left disgusted at the waste and lack of interest of really changing anything in their culture. We switched insurance a month later.

No accidents or tickets.

State Farm here, 30yo no rate increases and just over $100 a mo. for full coverage and the max coverage in all areas IIRC its 1mil/2.5mil. But of course I use a higher deductible to keep costs down. Cut the price in half moving from Gieco.

When I was 18 back in 1995, and I looked into a new Camaro SS, the cost to insure it in northern NJ was $8,600 per year. That was the cheapest quote from the 4 major insurance companies that serviced NJ at the time and I had no tickets and no accidents on my record at the time. That was just the cost of being in what was then the highest insurance cost area in the country.

Even a Hyundai Accent (if you think an Accent is a POS today, you should have seen it in '95/'96) was going to cost me a little over $4K a year to insure in 1995 money.

On the Camaro, that's approximately 13,000 today-dollars. So forgive me if I don't shed any tears over the extra $80 :-)

I did some shopping, called Allstate and Geico and they both wouldn't even give me a quote because they couldn't get anywhere near what I was paying now. Progressive was $347 a month, triple what I'm paying now.

You need to take a defensive driving course or something. Try to knock some of that back. That's ridiculous fen. Need to find ways to get some positive points on your record.

You would be pissed to see my driving record, and I pay 2000 dollars for all three of my vehicles combined.

I have good student/no accidents and they even did a homeownership loophole. Used to have safe driver but that fizzled away the minute Ohio State Highway Patrol walked up to my car.

As far as I know that's just how it is. I shopped around before I moved down here and every company was just as ridiculous.

That being said, it should go down by October of this year once that ticket is cleared from my record, plus I'll be 23. I'm planning on meeting with them soon to see if I can get my policy changed though.
