I'd so much rather have this.

Beautiful color on the outside, not liking the dash done in it from what I see. I understand where your coming off since you have not driven an S8.

My SS was built 01/15/2014, and shipped out of Adelaide,AU on 02/01/2014. Freighter presently on way to next port of call (Yokohama). Will arrive at port of Benicia (California) sometime in March. I am looking forward to the day it enters my garage to take its place with my other two SS's from different generations. I think it makes for a nice grouping.

Took my 'Maro in for its first oil change on Friday. The dealer had two Chevrolet SS on hand; one red and one black. I asked them if I could drive the red one while my car was in the lube shop.

It was a cold (by Houston standards) and wet day. For a region that has more annual rainfall than Seattle, it's astonishing how badly people drive when there's a hint of dampness.

Anyway.

When I got myself situated in the driver's seat, I noticed right away how much visibility there is. Steering wheel feels great. Driving position is, of course, far more upright.

Terrific acceleration and response. Handling is balanced and easy. Awesome brakes.

But..

$46K and no Homelink?

The new Driver Information Center (which is, I think, also in the 2014 Camaro) is pretty, but much slower. The full color HUD is also pretty, but again - much slower. Some distortion in the HUD display, which is weird.

I love the accident avoidance technology. Wish my '13 2LT RS had it. The Bose Centerpoint stereo is VERY nice.

Still, I hadn't driven off of the dealer's lot with it when I was completely sure that I had made the right choice buying my Camaro.

It's an awesome car. It's doubly awesome that it's a Chevrolet. It bodes very well for future Chevrolets, including the new Camaro. But, it's not a car that I'd buy now that I've driven it.

That is awesome! Rims and that front chin are killer! Wonder if those wheels are available for purchase? I did a short amount of "googling" and didn't come up with anything.

Saw the SS in person at the auto show. Interior is awesome, just killer.

Exterior...is just meh. My wife asked if it was a Malibu or Impala, and she knows a decent amount about cars. I honestly think a lot of people thought it was a Malibu or Impala, good thing they had it over by the Camaro and Corvette to try and push that it is a performance car

That being said, I am human and I do get a little smile in watching how my cars get attention.
I never really could wrap my head around the sleeper thing. I want a car that looks fast and drives fast. The Taurus SHO in the 90's is one car that comes to mind that did this but that car was ugly as hell. But if sleeper is the direction people want the Chevy SS has it in spades.

Mine has finally arrived in California, and should be delivered by the end of the month.
