It has an LS3 , yet its an automatic . $45k is too much . Looks like a Chevy G8. Not surprising, they are both E bodies. Not a great name , either . SS ???

Hey angryv6, leave SlingShot alone...he's been plugging this boring car on this thread so hard, you'd think he designed it himself. Let him proceed.

On which claim, that it has the LS3 or the handling ? The LS3 part is easy to find out, and the handling is my opinion as well as others that have driven it or own it. It drives better than my Camaro SS but not as good as my ZL1 and that is fact ...

Oh and a lot of talk about Ford and Dodge cars, I've never owned anything but GM for the last 45 years and don't ever plan on changing that.

IMO neither "S" in SS is supposed to stand for the word 'Sedan' nor should a a 4 door car have the SS moniker...not much to look at either.

If they want to build a cop car they should just sell in it black an white, LOL.

This $45K keeps getting mentioned; there are only a few in showrooms in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky so far and they're asking about $48K for them. I love Chevy but I just really wish they had spiked up the exterior a bit more. I'd pay $40K for one but not $48K.

The one we got is loaded up pretty well and it is a little over 46K.

The 94-96 Impala SS's were pretty cool cars. LT1 V8 equipped. As I already stated though, this new SS needs some exterior upgrades. GM should have made it look a little more intimidating. Most people could walk by and not even notice what is lurking under the hood.

That's kinda the whole point of the car, understated ...

I had a '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham for a couple years. Huge, beautiful car; essentially the same car and drive train as the Impala SS's. That LT1, with a few light mods, was lucky if it made 300hp but I could never believe how quick it was. I could chirp the tires going into 2nd with the automatic! Kind of wish I could have held onto that car since it was the last of the big Caddy's.

I like it. Throw some F14's on it and lower it an inch and a half, black the windows out....yup...I'd drive the crap out of it.

Maybe this is a little more to the likings of most, the HSV-GTS ... The problem is, most couldn't afford it. I think we're talking champagne appetites on a beer budget, for those that thought the SS was overpriced.

Whatever allows you to sleep better at night. 85-90% of the posts on here are people saying this car is boring and bland as all Hell. Most wouldn't give it a second look. I see this going the way of the "Holden GTO". We'll see.
