What would be the point? GM doesn't need to be competing against it's self.

No, I'm saying it.

GM doesn't need two of the same cars. Does Pontiac need a pony car? Yes. And as much as I would love to see the TA come back, it's dead, and it's not because GM's 'not too confident'

what else are you saying would'nt the firebird (based on the camaro) make a great candidate, and if it did and if GM was planning one launching it, all I'm saying is they would not do the same year as the camaro launch

The Firebird would be a lower volume car than the Camaro to start with. Then add to it the fact that Ponitac just got a low cost performance car in the G8. If they offer a Firebird, most buyers would cross shop against the Camaro or G8. The addition of sales would not be enough to justify the cost of rebadging the Camaro. Another thing to keep in mind is that Firebirds were always a bit nicer than Camaros, but with all the attention being given to the interior and exterior styling for the Camaro, the purpose for the Firebird ceases to exist.
As a final note, GM has said that they don't want to make 'twins' and offer both in the same market (the Lambda's go completely against this policy but thats for another time).

PS sorry, I had to correct your use of 'their', it just bugs me.

Your posts are hard to understand.

Let me make mine clear...

The Firebird/Trans Am are D-E-A-D.

Pontiac does however need the GTO (2 door, high performance car), the G8 is awesome and all, blowing Dodge Charger R/T and Maxima 3.5 SV out of the water, but it's no pony.

That's all I'm saying.

Come on guys it's simple math. GM can have two cool performance cars, or they can have ONE Ultimate Badass car.

Hence CAMARO!!!!

Ok, this is my opinion. If GM were to sell a rebadged Camaro as a TA, then it would cause a major confict between Pontiac an Chevy in my mind. I might be wrong, but they would more than likely be competing for top dog, cause the GM Sibling War.
Now, if Pontiac were to com up with there OWN unique design, on possibly the different platform, with major changes to the exterior, interior, motor, etc, and give it its own identity (I'm thinking make it more of a GTO, just more successful, and more awesome) then that might work.

Sry if I just repeated something Bumblebee and Muscle Master just said, but they were confusing me so I put my thoughts in there (I made sure to put the right 'there' for ya DGthe3 )

Haha, I agree with you 100%, I'm still waiting on a GTO Judge
