Speeding ticket + wreck???
So I got in a wreck not too long ago...I was on a freeway and merged left to get around a car going considerably slower than me and they merged into me as I was merging. The cops wrote me 2 citations. One for speeding and one for careless operation. If I'm found at fault and have to appear in court for these what types of fines should I expect? The ticket doesn't say a specific speed. It just says "speeding"...anyone have experience with something like this? I have a clean record besides these 2 things.
Thanks |

So you were merging onto the freeway from an on-ramp while the other driver wanted to take an off-ramp?

No we were both in the middle lane on a 3 lane interstate. Other car was doing ~50 mph and I was doing in the 65-70 range. They were saying I hit them from behind

Should be a phone number somewhere on the summons for the court. Call them and ask. They should be able to tell you.
