I guess, I'm not sure what they classify the instand freezing of flesh as. Liquid hydrogen is -423 F, -253 C. And the tanks would be at 5000 psi, possibly more. I'm thinking the effects would be more unpleasant than frostbite.

wouldnt matter on a plastic tank. not to mention, when you drill thru metal, you rarely get sparks. esp when the metal is as thin as it is

if he didnt die from asphyxiation, or the extreme cold, or both (inhaling the freezing hydrogen)

Hydrogen is liquid at ~-420F. Even if it is only presurized in the tank, a puncture allows the gas to expand. Expansion = Cooling. Check out how a CO2 fire extinguiser works.

Liquid H2 can cause organic items to crystalize.
This was done with liquid Nitrogen which is ~-200F

Also H2 has very low ignition energy. so after the thief has had his hand crytalized, his cigarette ignites your car into a flaming ball of srapnel

a friend of mine got this in their email. Of course I dont think someone there has a car that looks just like mine.

Keep an Eye on your license plate.

Quote:
A woman said her son found his license plate missing so he called the police to file a report. They told him people were stealing the plates to get free gas. Given the rise in gas prices, people have taken to stealing license plates, putting them on a their car (same make and model), then getting gas and running. The gas station will have 'your' license plate # and you could be in trouble for 'pump and run.' Check your car periodically to be sure you still have a plate. If you should find it missing, file a report immediately!!! Keep an eye on your license plate! Make sure you always know it's there! When the license plate is reported as the 'drive off vehicle,' it's YOU they contac t! Be aware!!!! Be aware of your license plates, most of us never look to see if the plates are there or not.

^Oh, and along the lines with that. First, we run the plate when we take the report. If the plate was stolen off of a Cadillac, but the agent says it was a F350 pickup....duh...we know the difference and know someone prolly stole the plate, but it hasn't been reported yet.

Now...if your plate is stolen, report that RIGHT AWAY. And, if you do report it, take off the other plate from your car.....duh....do you guys have any idea how many times people forget this simple, VERY SIMPLE step? We run the plate, it comes back stolen, our hearts are pumping like mad because we think we have a stolen vehicle, we run a felony traffic stop on you thinking the car is stolen (or just the plate which could ALSO mean the car is stolen), and we pull you of the the vehicle on a FELONY stop.

That means guns drawn.....pointed at you..... Now...do you want to take off that other plate?????

Yeah....again, common sense.

Thanks Tag. Even with a father in law enforcement, I never thought of that. Luckily it hasn't happened yet, but I'll keep it in mind.

My dad is also the one who told me about the cats getting stolen. He laughs saying people will report their muffler was stolen. Apparently they often don't even need a saw sometimes, just a simple unscrew. I want a garage darn it.

I couldn't believe someone stole that cat right off of that Toyota in the crowded mall parking lot! I was like, someone had to have heard or seen soemthing. You MUST be joking.

On the part of removing that other plate, do it. stovt, we have it happen often that the owner thinks reporting one of his two plates is sufficient. That owner thinks the other plate won't come up as stolen. I reallllllly don't know why seeing as though the plates have the same numbers...lol. But yeah, always check your plates. Screw them in properly and secure them if you can by using a lug nut on the back. That just makes it all that more difficult for someone to steal your plate. They just might want to move on if they can't get your plate.
