Just imagine what they'll have to do to up the ZR1.

This new Z06 is sounding like a king of all Muscle Cars and is getting ready to go and spank a bunch of Super Cars. I like that...

I do wish it was NA, but I think it's wise to at least include the option of an automatic. My knees are bad, so manual is pretty much out of the question for me.

Yeah. There is no such thing as tradition in GM powertrains anymore. This is how it starts. Next we'll start seeing the number of cylinders decrease.

True for various makes these days as they focus on efficiency.

As long as you are getting a manual option, why cry about an automatic option? Its pretty well known a good automatic will outperform a manual on the track and strip these days more times than not, and if its a DCT forget about it, so if GM wants the ultimate performance in their Z06, they HAVE to put an auto in the thing.

Losing tradition?? Ha....sure I guess if kicking ass once again isn't part of their tradition with these high end Corvettes.

As much as I am disappointed with the direction this Z06 is going, I am still a little excited to see what it can do.

Anyone else think it's odd that it "only" has a 1.7L S/C?

No. My guess is they were trying to keep weight down. What's impressive is it makes rough as much power as the LS9 but is half a liter down on the blower.

Hadn't thought about the weight.. My thought was if they put something bigger on the ZR1 it would easily be 100 more than the ZO6.
