Camaro 5 manners & censorship?

I asked very basic questions on a thread concerning the DA, race weight, and fuel used in an very non aggressive way and was edited off a thread. I think they are very basic questions and strayed only slightly away from the "good job, great driving" comments which remain. Are people here really that sensitive or did I ask questions which were threatening? Sorry for anything other than just information.

..if you could, repost the writing and leave it to the poll of public opinion. It's difficult at best to make any judgement based on your post with no supportive material.

Yeah well, mods will make up rules as they go, did it to me once. I almost thought about telling them to just delete my account if they were going to be that way. But I let it go.

I don't want to get into it, but the rule that I didn't break that they said I broke was one of the most sissy things I have ever heard, and all I did was quote a movie with no cuss words.

...it is what it is as they say....and I hear ya'...here's a good analogy, watch NFL games and the flags that are thrown at various times, and it's not just limited to that league.

Man, you really want to get me started about football flags. Some games it seems like the refs are having a competition to see who can toss that thing the furthest and the most number of times.

...LOL, true! And who has a vested interest in changing the field of play or outcome as well....

With fear of persecution and judgement, I asked Camarovigoa(Stephen) about the details of his record breaking 10.60 run and was edited off his post. Simple questions asked with nothing other than information in mind. I can't believe that I am the only one that wants to know details. Yeah, I am 2nd on the "bolt on" list and everyone thinks I am "challenging" or questioning the validity of his runs. I gave him kudos and just wanted to know weather conditions, race weight, and fuel used...none of which were answered. Why such secrecy unless there is something to keep secret? I have always answered every question concerning any of my runs quickly & honesty. I'm happy his car is that fast as I am a fan of fast cars especially ZL1s. Any car that can run 104 mph in the 1/8 and over 130 mph in the 1/4 is flying. If he was running race fuel, meth, or whatever, it still doesn't change anything...just come clean and stop holding back details. My statements are not condescending or meant to be harmful in any way so why did the ops decide to edit out my simple questions?

I read your question also and wondered why it was gone. I to would like to know the answer to all of your questions because I would like for my car to run that good with just "bolt ons". I do not want to open my motor up and put a cam and heads on it. I do not think that is out of line to find out what he has done since he has beat his chest on here for all of us to read.

It wasn't me who deleted your posts, so I can't tell you for certain why they were deleted. But looking at the thread I can say that regardless of your intentions, I can see how they might come off as being confrontational, in a passive-aggressive kinda way. Thats one of the problems when using only the written word to communicate: conveying tone. When talking to someone in person, the inflection in your voice as well as your body language tell others what you are trying to say as much as the words you use. Likewise, the reaction you get from someone lets you adjust how you communicate with them. Most of that is absent when you only have black letters on a white screen to go by.

As a general practice we don't discuss member infractions publicly, but I'd be happy to explain the rule you broke to incur that infraction in private.

Also, as a general practice we do not delete member accounts.

I recall reading that thread several times and felt a little uneasy about the way it was progressing.
As mentioned above, tone can come across wrong quite easily in posts - especially when its just 'fun jabs' between friends (ex Jamie vs 'x'- others dont know that).

I appreciate both of your sharing in that post and other threads.

So respectfully with that in mind:
Obviously top lists are competitive and sometimes much effort and $ is expended to get there.
Although its great to share modification info, I dont Expect those at the top to Have to disclose everything. I have to trust their word that mods are legit for the category. Site conditions of course can affect the numbers and would be proper to disclose in the lists, but are irrelevant in general because the slip is what it is.

Personally, I find that Private messages work best for such inquiries. That way it doesn't put anyone on the spot and they are free not to answer without creating any public forum friction. It is their vehicle and Thread and I respect that.

Just trying to help. Perhaps just food for thought for others.
No disrespect intended.
Tim

I don't know enough about Stephen's mods to comment on them. If he wants to share that's his call.
Weather that night was cool, 60 ish, run was made at PBIR, track is what I'd call sea level. Weather info from PBIA records for West Palm Beach should be close to what track conditions were that night.
I'm not a track guy so I have no idea what the DA was.
I thought your questions were fair. As was stated earlier, tone is hard to gauge thru the written word.
Hope this helps.
Matt
