I would guess yes because it has really exceeded anyones expectations of what it would sell.
I have been reading on a Raptor forum lately ,and someone produced spy shots that would suggest that it will continue into the next generation. They had to actually step up production because they are gaining in popularity. I think people are starting to see that they can get a very unique vehicle for the same cost as most other upscale trucks.

That's great. I can't wait to see what they come up with. I wonder if a next gen Raptor would have different engine options?

No word on motor options ,but I'm going to be following it closely. I'm very happy with the power and more so the throttle response. I think it has a lot to do with the 4:10 gears even though the 35" tires would offset that somewhat.

I love this truck so much that I look for reasons to drive it. In fact, Just talking about it making me think I need to get off the computer and go for a drive.

I would much rather have a Baja series tacoma over a raptor, there is a lot of hype in the raptor, there has been more than several cases where people have used them for even less then what they are intended for and still bend where the bed meets the cab. IMO its just a F150 with widened fenders and Fox shocks, nothing like king coil overs

Edit: Here is a whole thread enjoy http://www.raptorforumz.com/showthread.php?t=14208

All the stories of bent frames I've read about were people that were abusing the truck if you ask me. Too many people believe that these things are indestructible and that's how they destroy them. Most people reasonable people that own these realize that they are just a really nice truck and not a Baja truck. I also believe that the Toyota wouldn't hold up any better under the same abuse ,and for me it isn't nearly as nice. Besides with the Toyota, you have to worry more about the frame rusting out early before worrying about bending it.

If you do you're homework you'll see that they are much more than an F150 with Fox shocks too. It isn't like the Baja Toyota is a truck of it's own. It's also just a Tacoma which is a very outdated design and not nearly as nice as the current F150.

The issue of the frame rusting is a thing of the past and toyota is very loyal to their customers, that is under a recall and you get a total frame replacement if there is any rust found. Now that being said im not saying the baja tacoma can out perform the raptor just a personal preference toyota is know for the realiabilty of their vehicles. And they hold their value really well. I love the little tacoma and like said above with just some upgrading that Baja tacoma could handle some mean dunes

This is the point, you are talking bout modifying the Tacoma to be as good as a the Raptor. It would have to be HEAVILY modified to even be close. Once you do that you would have the same amount of money (probably more) into a smaller and less powerful truck, no warranty, and if you think Toyota is going to lift a finger to help you out on a heavily modified truck, you have be somewhat out of your head. As far as the frame rusting, that was the last gen, BUT they didn't replace the frame but rather did a secret voluntary buyback of effected trucks. The current gen Tacoma, while it doesn't have the rusting frame issues, has been a recall nightmare (like most Toyotas anymore).

I'm glad you like the Baja Tacoma, and I do think they look nice. But, for me I need much more in a truck than what a Tacoma can produce. As far as quality goes, toyota have there share of problems these days.

Raptors are undeniably cool. I'm very disappointed that Chevrolet has not appropriately responded. Of course, the cool factor is something I can do aftermarket for similar investment.

Aside from the cool factor, we need to think about the engineering. Ford trucks are okay, but I have a lot more trust in GM trucks.

I am pretty sure the power train will have the 3yr/36 month warranty with Roush. All other stuff, such as door locks not working, defroster not working, etc., are covered under your Ford 3yr/36 month warranty.

There is a reason the F150 continues to lead the segment year after year. I'm not a truck guy, so I don't have a dog in this fight, but I would like to hear some feedback from folks who are as to why GM is not more competitive than it historically has been in this segment.
The F-150 doesn't share a platform between GMC and Chevrolet. GM truck sales are split, and that makes for some marketing challenges. GMC is more luxury-oriented, leading to a unique marketing issue. GMC buyers tend to prefer as a secondary brand Ford over Chevrolet because Ford doesn't have what they consider a lower-tier of the brand.

I trust the engineering behind GM vehicles, the testing they undergo, and most importantly the quality of the engines. Ford makes good trucks. GM makes the best trucks.
