Now that has my attention. lol
Love the Competition Orange and I don't know if it will have the 5.8 any more, which sucks. I hope they do offer it, if they do a Shelby in the future. |

Also a little snip-it from edmunds
"Aluminum fenders were used to shave some weight off the Mustang this time around. Unfortunately, they don't offset weight gains elsewhere, as the 2015 Mustang is expected to weigh roughly 100 pounds more than the outgoing model. Official specs haven't been released yet, but that would still leave the Mustang GT about 200 pounds lighter than the Camaro SS." Looks like the 6th gen should truly be neck and neck if this weight information is true - YAY COMPETITION!

I put this more on marketing than anything else. Of course in the era of "downsizing" saying that the 2015 Mustang is "lighter" and "smaller" was the headline grabber. That made some people think this Mustang was going to be the size of the BRZ/FR-S.
Even the C7 Corvette gained weight, and that was after going to an all-aluminum frame, suspension components and carbon fiber pieces (hood and roof). Safety and amenities add up. I would have been happy if they had said "the 2015 Mustang will weigh the same as the 2014 Mustang GT (3,618 lbs) while gaining IRS.

I think this article has the most realistic info yet.
They predict + 20/10 from the Coyote, reasonable. Something else that stood out to me other than it probably gained 100lbs is the fact that they still refuse to put wide tires under the Mustang and when they upgrade brakes they only mentioned the fronts getting Brembos. Does that mean they are going to keep up with the asinine tradition of keeping the same single piston floating caliper in the rear whether it be the base 6 cylinder (or 4 cylinder) or the bad assed GT5000000 or whatever the hell they plan to call it...
